You don't need to be near it it just needs to be on or in rest mode

I bought the backbone now I’m returning it I thought it would be more like the Nintendo switch where I can take it ANYWHERE without a console connection. Can’t play my ps5 games with my console being on. the only games I can play away from home are the App Store games total rip off

You need to own a PS5 to use Backbone if you don’t own PS4 or PS5 the games will not work. So don’t just buy Backbone and waste your money on something that won’t work if you’re not getting a good signal with it it’s telling you you need PS4 or PS5. Not sure if it supports Nintendo it only supports PlayStation it looks like.

Incorrect. You did need a ps5 to use backbone. You can play literally any streaming service including steam, the Google play store games, Apple arcade, and Xbox game pass. Remote play to a console is just one of the many options.

Both have to be connected to internet, but do not need to be on the same network. You can be away from home and still connect to your console.

Hey. No need to use the Backbone app, just download the PS Remote Play app from the app store. Bluetooth isn't needed.

No, you can only stream the games from your PS5, you don't actually install them on your phone. However, you can leave your PS5 is Rest mode and wake it up remotely over the internet when you want to play.

Whilst you’re away from your playstation, you can leave it in rest mode, whilst you’re playing away on your backbone. You don’t have to have your console on as you would if you was playing at home as stated in the video above.
