The compression will come in handy. An open question, I am running Yuzu on Batocera from a previous video and games are running but I have to manually setup the controller every time I start a game (F11 then selecting controller and loading a profile), for some reason it isn't saving the profile as default. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you for this tutorial. RPCS3 creates a new folder which stores the game files….we now need a tutorial on how to effectively run RPCS3 games from an EXTERNAL DRIVE.

@@ArtLike I don't think there's a way around that and I'm not sure why you'd want them off of the Batocera boot drive. What exactly are you hoping to accomplish?

@@ArtLike Oh, I see what you're saying. I don't think that's possible though with the way Batocera is developed and programmed. What I do for all of my larger games is store them on the external drive and then I use symlinks to the internal drive, and the system treats them as if they're actually stored in the rom folder, even though they're physically on the external. So in order to free up space on your boot drive (since it doesn't sound like there's a way to do what you're saying), you could just move most of the rom folders you have to the external and then link them this way to free up some space for all of the data files that RPCS3 will need.

Running Batocera on a HX90G from Minisforums. Has a dedicated gpu, 6600m and Ryzen 9 5900HU cpu so ps3 should run fine? Only real problem I have is Skate 3 as the graphics either mess up and the camera angle changes or see objects drop from the sky and go into the floor then the game slows down. Any suggestions?

Have you followed the compatibility page for Skate 3 and created a custom profile for that game? That's one demanding game even for the 6600m.

@@BatoceraNation Thanks. Fixed it. I still get a few drops but I think that might be Batocera or a Linux issue. I had the standard HX90 (without gpu) before this and it ran fine on Windows. Also I noticed that when I changed settings in the Batocera menu it doesn't change it on the emulator so have to set inside the emulator itself. Also the 6600m is a little faster than the 2060.

Look at the info.txt for the console system. If it says it will accept smashfs files then you can compress them in the same manner.

It is updated by the Developers of Batocera. It's a more complicated process than it is in Windows. I saw some coding by one developer when he updated a different emulator. 100 lines of code just to update something.

You dont normally. These things are updated in next Batocera version.

but no emulation should be done on Batocera. Its suchan unstable operating system that sucks its ability to work properly on all computer. I've had batocera fail or reboot or crash on decent gaming computers. thats pretty bad! If you're using low end computer your better off installing Windows 8 Pro on it and using Retrobat. You get the same Gui look but better performance and resolve plus you can install any PC game you want on it and all the same skins.... Doesn't make sense to use such a limited operating system that crashes or fails on higher tier emulation.

I took the time to make everything work perfect but regardless the operating system would crash on me from time to time. I couldn't believe that after mastering batocera learning that it was more unstable then theres people that actually buy mini computers to use it and it comes off as a ripoff considering how unstable it is. 100 percent retrobat gives the same results but it is more stable. You don't have to sacrifice your ability to download and install roms or windows games. I haven't tried rocalbox yet but I know 100percent retrobat has all the best features for str8 forward emulation. I do believe that retroarch is the king of all retro emulation but it is time consuming to set it up. retrobat is all preconfigured and is just drag and drop. And one more thing just because retrobat and batocera use retroarch to launch games it, it is still not the same thing. There are certain features on retroarch stand alone that really complete your emulation experience. For 1 having the ability to set your screen size exactly how you want it for every game instead of just using 4:3 or 16:9 One screen size is incomplete for good gaming and the other one makes the game look like a dvd. Your playing a super nintendo game and the screen is squeezed together like a dvd movie for a retro game that is a bad experience because the dimensions are wrong @@fonzitheman
