Nick Absolute Best Serato Setup Tutorial Ever!, You answered every question I ever had on how to set up Serato. The Only Thing I didn't hear you mention Is your can change the distance between the Waves form with the + or - Keys on the Keyboard. Where I DJ at the other DJ likes it really tight and I like a lot of distance so I can see the beats more clearly. Thanks again, DJ Drew

Actually you can still set hot cues with enable hot cues unticked.But only on your computer not using your controler. I swiched it off because I kept setting hot cues in places I did'nt want. So now wnen I load new tunes into serato I set the cue points before the gig. Hope I described this well enough. BTW Nick really enjoy your channel.

Great video Nick. Thank you for sharing how you set up Serato. A video I would like to see is how YOU find the bangers. Now I know nothing beats crowed interaction but since we really can not perform in front of a crowd right now how do you do it? Recently I have been using a feature found in Spotify that basically tells you how danceable a song is. It also gives you the energy and mood of the song. That is one way I find the bangers. Stay safe.

21:12 - CENTER ON SELECTED SONG - I have this turned on, because, when I scrolll through my songs on my controller, with the clicky knob, it's very easy to see the selected song in the middle and see the upcoming and past songs in that list while scrolling. When I have the wanted song selected, I load it onto player A or player B pressing a button near the scrolling knob. Very easy and usefull option. If one is using laptop's mouse or pad to load song, it's not useful. Cheers! ;)

Nice video. Regarding the WAV/AIFF file format I'd suggest AIFF just for the reason that it supports metatags, like artist, album, song et c. AIFF works fine on both Mac and PC so it can be useful if you want to add metadata to your file after the recording.

I’ve been hearing about iTunes going away for 2yrs and finally it was supposed to be gone Spring 2020, but it’s still here. What’s the real deal with iTunes. I have it and I love it. I use it mainly as a music organizer and a way to purchase songs I may not have.
@NickSpinelli4 жыл бұрын
I have no idea when but itunes in general doesn't make sense for apple to keep because everyone streams music through apple music or spotify. So I will say it's inevitable and I would absolutely make moves now so it doesn't catch you off guard later
@gilboogie4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. LOL. Ive been hearing that iTunes is done for a few years now. I duplicated all my itunes playlists as crates in serato but I keep both updated. I was DJing a gig at an Adidas store (about 7 years ago) and my MacBook crashed. (only time that every happened) When it finally rebooted all my serato crates were gone. All I had was what ever playlists I had in iTunes. This is why I now do both Itunes playlists and Serato crates.

Very helpful video. I have been dealing with the audio completely dropping out to my master output. Whenever I see that dreaded dot on the top right hand corner of my screen, I cringe. I first noticed it while I was DJ'ing with a PC. I then upgraded to a Mac Book Pro. Just last night during a gig, the audio dropped 3 times while I was playing. Have you ever dealt with this? If so, how did you solve the problem? I already upgraded the USB cable and that did not work. What do you recommend? Thanks.
@NickSpinelli3 жыл бұрын
I've never had this problem but I would make sure you have the newest serato, and that all of your drivers and firmware are updated on your mixer and computer, if that's all good you should never have dropouts
@Move2theGroove12003 жыл бұрын
@@NickSpinelli Thanks for replying. This problem is common amoung Serato users. There are videos on KZbin about it. Your hardware isn't connecting. Turn off and turn on the hardware to reset it. If that doesn't work restart Serato with it plugged in and on, and if that doesn't work make sure you have all the drivers loaded correctly. You may have to reinstall all the drivers.
