I changed my birds setup literally yesterday lol The only thing I'd recommend is a flat perch, I've heard it's also good for them not to be perched all the time so I always have one!

Hello! Love your videos so much! I'm just starting and have done a whole lot of research on conures (green cheeks) and I am going to get one once we have everything all set up. I have been searching on Amazon and can't seem to find any good, sturdy, thick natural wood perches for conures. All the reviews are horrible and people state that their wood came infested with bugs or even rotten. I was hoping you had an Amazon store or anything. What wooden perches do you use? Did you get your perches from the website you stated in the video or somewhere else? Thank you! 🥰😁

My quakers are wrecking machines. They love to chew so I get big wood pieces from the pet shop and use zip ties to secure them as perches. They spend hours trying to destroy them but the wood really hangs in there.

I have a single dowel perch at the bottom of the cage, but we shaved it with a knife to make it less regular so their feet have more variety!

I found you because of Sandra’s parrot podcast. You did such a good job setting up their cage. My only question is, why are there no perches up higher where parrots like to sleep? Is it because they like to perch lower?

My quaker likes to perch at this level ☺️ I also think anything higher up and she wouldnt fit 😂

enjoying the cage series, I'm in a little tight decision right now with picking the ''right'' bird for me i can't decide whether to go with a cockatiel or a set of lovebirds there seem to be a lot of ups and down or more so cons with lovebirds and not so much on cockatiels which is kind of scaring me to consider getting one. I just need an opinion or what you think is smarter. i want the lovebirds cause i would getting a pair which i would like to get to avoid loneliness and as for cockatiels their just naturally clingy like most birds can be so i don't fear for loneliness with it comes down to the cockatiels.

Both birds will be incredibly smart. They just come with a different set of personalities but I love both! Cockatiels are more calm, they can be sassy, not all are cuddly, they prefer scritchies and your company, and very fun musical babies. Lovebirds are little chihuahua’s, angry but harmless. They arnt as clingy, but they love to play and shred paper. Whether you get a pair or not they will require a lot of attention and personal time. Personally im bias because I love cockatiels and used to have a rescue tiel who was an angel. At the end of the day do your research on their personalities and peoples experiences and choose which personality you feel fits you best ☺️

@@mimisbirdhouse thank you ! as time went on conure are what im leaning more towards too i def would love a cockatiel a little later on im just loving how conure act personalities etc def pricey lol i think he'll be worth it there isn't much info on them though so its kinda hard so im going to learn as much as i can before getting him :)

paco didnt like his cage. I cant blame him.. the bottom thing was a bit to flat for him and he could barely reach his food . we switched back to his old cage even though its small he likes it , but the big cage he hates.😭😭

Honestly not all cages work out, as long as he is comfortable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
