Hi, Friends! I'm Jessica and thank you for joining me for the 2023 Scrappy Sampler! Today I'm sharing how I make Block 10. If you never made a Dresden plate before, no problem at all! I explain all of the steps in detail and I know you can succeed at this block. Let's make it together!
You can find the pattern for block 8, 9, and 10 here- jessicadayon.blogspot.com/2023...
The 2023 Scrappy Sampler is a completely FREE scrappy quilt along that I'm hosting starting December 26th, 2022 and running until April 2023. You can find the details and schedule for the 2023 Scrappy Sampler on my blog- jessicadayon.blogspot.com/202...
As I mentioned in the block 1 video, my favorite iron is an Oliso ProPlus SmartIron. Oliso was kind enough to give a discount to my followers! You can get $20 off a ProPlus SmartIron using the code Pro20 at checkout. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could also use my affiliate link (the price stays the same for you but I make a small commission on any purchase you make through my link)- www.oliso.com?aff=100
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments.
Thanks for watching!

My goodness... I've watched literally hundreds of quilting videos and you are by far one of the best teachers I've ever watched. I just found you today, I've never done a sew a long it seems you been at this one awhile, I just chopped up the last of my background fabric today. I love the blocks your doing. If you keep this up you will definitely grow your channel your very good at this! ♥️

I'm so happy that I've discovered you. I'm amazed that someone so young knows this technique, but what a blessing for all of us. I own my family's only Dresden quilt, which is about 100 years old! My sisters always drool over the quilt. Perhaps now I can surprise them with a lap quilt or something like that in the dresden style. :-) Thank you so much for taking the time to share your skills and talents with us. God bless you. ❤🙏🏻

Jessica, I just found your channel this morning and I am thrilled with your style of teaching and explanation. You are so generous with your time and clarity. You have opened my eyes to the ease with which the dresden block can be constructed. I am excited to make them and see the final result. I am also excited now to check out the other blocks and also continue to watch every video you have done. I love simplicity, and I love quilting with a clear path in front of me. You get a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review from be. You're awesome!!

Hello Jessica, this was a great video on making dresen plate blocks. I really appreciate all your details on your instructions. And you went slow enough so that along with the instructions it could be seen easily in the video. Beautiful hand stitching also. It's a lot of work I think making the Dresden plate blocks. But so worth it, I so enjoyed watching this video so much. That I joined your site. Looking forward to more of your videos. And learning how to do more things. Thank you for your time.

Easier way cut 2 circles plus seam allowance. Right sides together. Sew completely closed. Cut an x in back side of circle to turn circle inside out. Using your crochet hook about your circle. Press. Can clip seam before you turn it which will help it to lay flat better

Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 This was so helpful! I started Dresden blocks in 2020 and found them quite monotonous (nothing against the block, just how I found them), which surprised me. I have 3 of the 12 put together with the remaining 9 in quarters as you’ve demonstrated here (I’m please with my intuition.) The markers along the way in this video have motivated me to move forward with the finish because I was really just off on a wing and a prayer with them when I started - thank you so much!!

Beautiful needlework. I really never thought about it before but I didn't think just one stitch at the time what's the way it was done. LOL I was told 45 stitches on your needle then pull and when I done that quilting none of it was in uniform they were big small medium stitches etcetera... not looking good at all .😪 ,when quilting by hand... thank you, that's such a beautiful Quilt Block as well tasteful and neat . Like I would love my work to look like ..?thank you again for sharing. .. beautiful work❤

You can load as many stitches as you want. Sometimes I do a bunch and sometimes I only do one at a time. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way.
