How to Sew a Godet

How many people here sewed a godet into pants to convert them to bell bottoms in the 1960's or 1970's? Might as well add a patch or two. Ah, the good old days!

Your tutorials never disappoint! I made my first skirt recently from a self-drafted sloper and found that when I sit, the thigh area is too small and my poor thighs are screaming at me LOL Plus the skirt hikes up. I am going to try this and pray it helps me. Thought about splitting the lower part of the back seam, but it might be too revealing.
