Thanks for the tip in the beginning about leaving some of the tail and tying it off. Then sewing with the single thread. Genius! That will eliminate the double threads getting tangled/knotting. Also, the tie down at the end. Is different than what I had assumed was the way to do it. And will be more secure. Thanks again!

I love the basic hint of doing the first knot! Just leaving a tail then sewing the next piece to each other! Much easier than tying a big know, hoping it is snug and in the same spot. I'm having A LOT of trouble getting the needle through the patch. What's the best needle should I use, and any suggestions of pushing it through.
@excellentcat38784 жыл бұрын
Needle not too thick and use a thimble to push it through.

Just a weird note for any one who sews ... and has cats, those 2 dont mix very well. Mine had to have a major surgery to remove tangled up thread from his intestines. They love to play and eat that stuff, and it can be lethal.

Couple questions if I may 1. Should you do one patch at a time ? I'm making a battle vest with band patches :) 2. How do you make sure your lines are straight when you can't see the patch while stitching?

I would use yellow thread and sew through the yellow edge of the patch NOT the dark color. I would also use 2 threads not one.

Needle isn't strong enough to go through. I once forced it and the thread got broken on the way out. Should I invest in silk thread and a thicker needle??

thank you for sharing.. Thank you for showing me, an inexperienced sewer, how to keep a shirt.. lol... anyways, I will use your technique...

How strong is this, with a single thread and big straight stitches? Any snag or extra tension and the patch would be half off the sleeve.
