Luv it. I was just curious how to make a reversible version and you did a fantastic job with clear and precise directions. I chuckle at a few of your choice of descriptions in the sewing world. Such as Pretty side up instead of face side up or two right sides together. But so clear no one familiar or new to sewing would have difficulties in understanding your directives. Great instructions. PS my hubby married me almost 50 years ago for my sewing machine and car too. Of course I married him because he could keep them running if not purring. And yes he sews and does all his own mending too. I however won't let him mend my rips because the last time he repaired a 3 corner rip in brand new pair of light denim jeans and did it with an almost neon zig zag blue thread that screamed look at me. One learns to have a sense of humor when you are married. It's part of yielding and compromise as all of life is a bit of a compromise. And by the way I still have the same sewing machine but car gave up around the 24 year mark. Kudo's to men who sew and share. Stay safe everyone. I'm going to use faux leather or vegan leathers so may not need the interface with two together.

For a sick person, a side pocket on one flap of each fabric, to hold some headache tablets, a tube of throat lozenges, and maybe a lip saver, would come in so handy. You could add a small strap, or ribbon loop into the top opening, so you could hook this up or carry it around with one finger, and tuck it inside when not needed. You actually only need to back-stitch at the end, especially when you run right over your start threads, on a circular seam.

What a great idea! I plan to make a few as gifts. If you have a zipper foot, I suggest using it when stitching around the outside of the oval. You can see more of the fabric and where your stitching :)

Love ❤️ this ! Clear instructions and making it reversible is great idea ! My flip side could be Christmas, so I now have to wait for Christmas fabric to go on sale in November and make these as Christmas gifts. I will make some for now just to practice and put them in my bedrooms. Thanks 🙏🏻 for a great tutorial!! Keep your sewing coming …..

I used your tutorial this morning using drop cloth and lightweight interfacing and a couple of tweaks to your pattern. It was a struggle to put over the tissue box. I modified with smaller seam allowances and I criss crossed the elastic at the bottom. Thank you for your tutorial! It led me down he right path!

I think that your instructions are amazingly on target - I would not have thought of the elastic straps. I do have a small suggestion - especially if you are using heavy weight interfacing you don't need that in the seam area - too bulky! I would trim the interfacing down 1/2 inch all the way around. Your seam allowance doesn't need strengthening. That's what they do when sewing purses, totebags, etc.

When you said you measured the box did you make your template to be the same dimensions or did you give it some allowance to stretch over the tissue box? I see you added for seam allowance but just wondered about any extra needed to make it fit over the box. Also trying to figure out how to add pockets around the bottom for remotes, items like chap stick or even cough drops. Thanks for the video.

Thank you very much for this great tutorial! Do you have to do anything with the triangles that are created at the top of each side? Do you have to clip them at all?
@starlynfrank45892 жыл бұрын
Which Pellon interfacing did you use? I am using #809. Also, how long are the elastic strips???? I kind-of saw that yours maybe 5" long......... is that correct?
