Thank you so much for this fab and easy to follow tutorial. Been wanting a hammam style robe for a while - bit pricey to buy though. Found a couple of light cotton summer blankets at a local discounter by chance this weekend (less than €6 each), and thanks to you, am delighted with a robe I've created myself (tassles n all)! All for €12, with some yarn I already had, a long weekend, and a bit of patience 😁

Hello! I would like to make my husband a robe for Christmas and I love how simple this tutorial is! Is there anything I would have to change if I was to make this form him since your measurements are for women? Thanks!
@MellysewsАй бұрын
You'd probably want to make the sleeve holes deeper and the sleeves wider.
@hannainman64653 жыл бұрын
This is so great! I assume the measurements would basically be the same if making this for a man, would that be correct? Men often have wider necks, would I need to make those measurements wider?
@Mellysews3 жыл бұрын
Yes, measuring would be similar for men and yes you would want to find the neck circumference of the man the robe is intended for.

I made this, turned out well, except I could not figure out the collar/binding! I ended up just hemming everything, then sewing some lace over the area where the binding would be, as well as the hem of the sleeves

Could I do this with Bamboo Terry Cloth and make the collar and belt with regular cotton fabric with stabilizer? Im so new to sewing but I always hate the bulk/feel of towel robes on the neck and belt..
@Mellysews3 жыл бұрын
Probably, but I couldn't say for sure how it would turn out. You might find the seams bulky.

thanks so much for this tutorial, super easy to follow. I just have one question, when measuring for the binding, im getting a little confused on how to measure the neckline. thanks!!!

Hi Mel. Thanks for the video. Can you please explain how much do we need to splash and spread the binding at the neck? Thanks

I’m trying to make this with a cotton bedsheet, but every time I sew along the underarms and down the side seam, I get bunching. I did a snip into the corner, but I still get bunching. Any ideas where I’m going wrong and what I can do? I’ve unpicked it about 8 times now!
@Mellysews4 ай бұрын
You have to snip pretty close in to the stitching and then you'll still likely get wrinkles, which are different from bunching. My most recent video about sleeves helps explain this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKO4dHt8oJt_iNk
