You are the first one on rolled hem videos that explained to use the threads to pull the fabric through. Everyone else fumbled trying to say that the fabric takes practice trying to get it curved around the funnel. I like your technique the best. Thank you.

I was trying to figure out how to use some kind of lead, to help pull it through. A few stitches are perfect. I must try this, soon. Ok, now I need to see something about sewing a corner on a scarf, say. I haven’t been able to get it to look good. Help!!

Wow, Thanks so much! You are right, so many are afraid of doing this, and I had two people bring me formal dresses needing the rolled hem. I watched video, after video, did the dresses, and I was happy with the results, better yet so were the customers. You are Awesome, Thank You! I am a quilter, not a seamstress.

This finally worked for me after watching and rewatching and rewatching! I finally saw the missing advice......to hold the fabric edge straight up! I kept trying to ‘help’ the hem by trying to thread the fabric into the spiral already rolled. No go! I had watched the other videos. Yours was The only one that worked. Thank you

I simply stitch a long thread through the corner with a hand sewing needle. I like that better than sewing machine stitches into the corner that I can manage to make a mess of sometimes.

What a great idea! That makes sense. Because doing it by machine could jam-up the thread. Thanks!

how much is this rolled hem foot? Usually those feet are more expensive than the sewing machine.
@irmar5 жыл бұрын
If you look at ebay or at Chinese sites like aliexpress etc, you'll see whole collections of 48 different feet for a ridiculously small amount. You just need to know whether your machine is long shank (older ones are) or short shank (after 1980 or so). This means the thingie where the foot is attached, is it long or short. Of course there are no instructions and the names of the feet are in Chinese, but there are many helpful blogs and tutorials which illustrate each one of them.
