I’m afraid it’s not possible! If you follow this method with regular ribbons you won’t be able to even put them on because they cannot stretch. And if you can they will be too loose to dance on them. I have a blog post with a step by step on how to sew regular ribbons :)

Hi! I’m afraid I can’t give you a name since I buy them from a little store out of a huge roll and they aren’t related at all to ballet 🙈 But the ones from freed are just as nice, maybe a little more expensive but lovely quality 💕

Do you have to do the criss cross elastic? Is it okay to do the loop around the ankle

🙋🏻‍♀️ Hi!!! Regarding your first question, the elastics can go on a criss cross position or just one elastic that goes from one side to the other or some dancers don’t even wear elastics at all!! The second question got me a little confused… but if what you mean is if the RIBBON has to go making a loop around the ankle.. that’s correct, HAS TO GO ALL THE WAY AROUND :))
