Great tutorial - thank you! Vilene iron on fusible interfacing does not require a damp cloth for application - I do usually cover my ironing board and place a dry cloth over my fabric to prevent any tiny overcut edges sticking to my iron or ironing board cover though ☺️

Thank you for the tip! I'll definitely look up Vilene interfacing! Also, I love the tip about covering your ironing board- that's always been a problem for me even with regular interfacing and I never even thought about covering the ironing board! 🤦♀️

@@AdoptYourClothes no problem- I think the correct spelling is Vlieseline … I noticed my error when cutting my interfacing out yesterday. I used Vliseseline F220 in my espadrilles. I made the 5 to 5.5 with a size 5 sole and they will not stay on the back of my feet at all! I have a very sore finger and thumb…. and a pair of shoes that don’t fit! I’m going to see if I can stitch some elastic across the back - or maybe attach some ribbon/ties 😊

Awww that's sad that yours don't fit at all! Mine were definitely slightly loose at the heel, but not loose enough that I can't wear them... I just couldn't go speed walking in them! 🤣 I like the idea of ankle ties! I feel like that would be really cute and would definitely help them stay on better!

I'd suggest that people cut a test shoe out of scrap fabric first. I have high arches and the original pattern was way too tight on my foot, I had to add about an inch to the top of the shoe to fit my foot. I imagine if you have narrow or flatter feet you might find the pattern too large so making a practice one first will save you frustation and fabric.

I just steam interfacing because it sucks trying to use the damp cloth lol. Works great that way.

I wonder why those shoes are so beautiful. Turn out there is blood sacrifice involved in the process. That is definitely necessary for any incredible shoemaking.
