Does that white packaging tape help to sew in a straight line? Or, is it used for some other purpose? Also, what is the pink rectangular strip on the metal plate called?

The white strap is a plastic strapping band and often used for packing work. In areas with thickness, there may be unevenness at the presser foot, causing the pressure and feed teeth to be less stable than usual. To increase the pressure and stabilize it, we intentionally use this strapping band to raise the height of the presser foot. And yes, this is also useful for straight guide line. The pink tape is made of urethane foam with a sticky surface. It is very useful as a guideline for stitching. We buy them in a kind of professional shop in Japan. I'm afraid to say that we do not know if it is available outside of Japan. Thank you.
