This was the most thorough video I've found among the MANY I have searched about sewing stretch fabrics and stitch types for knit fabrics. You included so much more information that help to not just know what to do, but to also understand WHY those techniques or items make a difference. Thank you so so much! Looking forward to seeing more from you!!

Is your all purpose thread polyester
@HeatherHandmade Жыл бұрын
I use all purpose polyester thread for most knits. If the knit is 100% cotton then I use cotton thread.

Hi Heather. You have an amazing gift of clearly explaining while demonstrating. I just started sewing a year ago and stretch fabrics were extremely frustrating for me. I am making a simple asymmetrical poncho out of 4-way stretch knit fabric. I know I can leave the edges raw but I'd rather hem them so they look nice and finished. When I finally finish hemming the bottom that keeps rolling up and it doesn't hang right. It looks wavy and keeps flipping up! Wish you can do a video on How to Hem Jersey Knits that Roll! LOL...

Very useful video, thanks for sharing your experience Heather. I want to buy a sewing machine which can work with thin to thick fabric. Can you please let me know which will be the beast option.😜

Working through this now but my fabric keeps getting sucked into the machine around the bobbin and ripping... very frustrating.
@HeatherHandmade Жыл бұрын
That is very frustrating! I would put tissue paper underneath your fabric in the first 1 inch or so to keep the fabric from getting sucked in. Then rip the paper off after you are finished with that seam.
