I have never been able to use my rolled hem foot with any kind of fabric till I watched your video! Ironing that little roll has been like magic! Thank You, Georgia-Rose Greer

Wish you were my neighbor and my sew with me friend and coach!... I am going back to machine to keep practicing this on scrap fabrics... ruined the top on doll shirt thinking it would work first time.... it did not , but, with your calming manner...I will attempt this again !

I haven't tried this in years, and never with the machine I own now. I realize it's time to get a foot for this again and give it a go! You make it look so easy!

Thank You. I gave up on my rolled hem presser foot until I tried your method, it worked out great with some practice and now I adore this hem technique.

I did a search, but now I'm super confused! What type and style should I get???? I consider myself as a beginner. The only way I've learned anything is from KZbin. I'd love to buy dollclothes patterns, but I'm really not very good.

What about corners? I’m sewing Raggedy Ann aprons presently. Whether it’s the beginning end or the opposite end (with hems pressed & pinned in place), my machine doesn’t want to advance the fabric, & I end up with a lump of repeated stitches. I even try to advance it manually by turning a stitch, lifting the pressure foot, then pushing it forward, but that doesn’t always help. Sewing around the ends of the apron ties is the worst! Can you help? Thanks so much!

Hi there! Sometimes that happens when I'm trying to feed too much fabric into the roll or the amount of fabric going into the foot is not even. As for corners and ends - it's really hard to finish those neatly. I try to create my rolled hem before I need to close up the seam so the ends get caught in the seam allowance. Erin may have a better way if you'd like to reach out to her via her website - averylanesewing.com/. - Betsy F Customer service at C&T Publishing

Hi there, I just made 9 SCALLOPED kaleidoscope blocks & don't want to lose outer fabric design of various flowers. Does the tiny rolled hem foot work around scalloped edges? I would get the foot if I thought it would work.
@CandTPublishing2 жыл бұрын
I would say it depends on the severity of the curve and how much bulk the seam is having to take up. The foot works by encouraging the fabric to roll in on itself and if there's a lot of fabric having to be gathered up within the curves, then the foot may not work as smoothly. If you're trying to put the binding on the scalloped edges of a quilt rather than rolling the hem of a garment, I'd recommend looking into a bias binding foot. And to that end, it's very important to ensure your binding is actually cut on the bias when dealing with curves. (I say that because I'm not always one to make sure I cut my binding on the bias if it's for a quilt!)

@@CandTPublishing Thank You for the useful info. I've done biased seam binding on the round folded Amish Star trivets, but never used a rolled hem foot. Continue to share your expertise...I so appreciate you.
