Jason, I truly admire your skills. I recently started following you because you inspire me. Even though I am an older man, I find no shame in being inspired by Brothers like you who try to inspire others. You see, learning never stops. You can learn something from anyone if you would but just pay attention long enough to actually grasp his expression. Keep up that good work. One artist to another.

I also did as you said I did with hb 2b, 4b for skin. But it looks lighter I'm feeling upset because I feel down.. Whether I can Or not... I'm just doing a hair drawing but i need to do shoulder. For the shoulder I don't know how to shade skin. I used your technique for shoulder shading. Will it work or not also I don't know please can you make a video or reply how to shade a shoulder. And once again can say how to shade a hair. 😢😢😢😢
@JasonLegendaryArt6 ай бұрын
Shading shoulder is the same as shading the face, it's all just skin. But if you find that my technique isn't working, verify that you are actually following the steps accurately. If you are following it accurately, then it may be that you need a little more time to practice

I like graphite just that the shinny effect creates is what I don't like, it please how can I avoid that??
@JasonLegendaryArt2 жыл бұрын
No tricks from my end. The solution I used was to entirely switch to charcoal for my darkest areas.
@akinniyijoshua59092 жыл бұрын
It's when pressure is overly applied to the graphite pencil that it shines, I think. Instead of applying pressure on the pencil to go darker, simply use higher grades for that purpose. One trick is to make use of the black pencil in a colored pencils set for the very dark parts. Another trick is to apply a bit of charcoal powder as the last layer of your shading i.e after putting pressure (not too much though) on the pencil and you're satisfied with the 'dark-ness', add a light layer of charcoal powder to overcome the shiny-ness. I hope this helps!

you could use small make up brushes to shade rather than tissue paper, it works really well
@JasonLegendaryArt Жыл бұрын
Yeah I heard so. I tried it once and it didn't blend anything, so I concluded that brushes don't blend graphite pencil shading well, that brushes could only handle powder. But that was years back. Will try it again though
