We have heard that before that some features like this pivot tables is removing that sharing functionality. No solution for that however...

Hi, PP…. Question about the data we updated in the file. Will we all staff see the new data once we hit save button on the file?

Good question, When you hit the save button, then all the data is saved within the presentation. So when opened by others, even without the datapoint plugin installed, they will see the latest when saved info. But of course, it will not refresh with the latest data automatically when no plugin is installed.

Thank you for your clarification…Do you mean the updated data will sync up with the file in the public driver, which is M drive. When we open the file in the morning, should we just go to One Drive directory to open the file. In other words, we don’t pull the file in the M drive anymore?

@@howitslimeslimy5652 When you open the presentation with datapoint installed, it will refresh the data in the presentation. When you save, that data is made available for others (without datapoint). See? But you can also use the enterprise edition for you, and then give your colleagues the free viewer edition. Then it will also update the information at opening time for them all. Free use of the datapoint viewer in that case. All clear?

Yes, we have seen it before. That does not work when you have tables or XML maps. Only with a 'simple' worksheet. Can you drop the tables or XML maps?

@@saulsadekylorente8559 I don't have your file, but I suggest to work the other way around. Start with a new and shared sheet and copy over stuff one by one that you need and make sure that it can be saved every time.

Works to an extent, but you haven't completed the presentation by showing how others open the origingal document. In other words. I created a file in Computer A and used your presentation for creating the shared workbook. Then when Computer B opens the file he/she sees the orignal file created in Computer A....Yeah! However why can't all users see changes maded to the original document?

That is only for people on your network, not to be compared with google sheets where you have a spreadsheet in the cloud...

It works for me and our customers on normal/simple Excel worksheets. In some special cases (complex use of Excel and other features) it might not work.

PresentationPoint yes we are all using the same one, so the moment a third person opens it, it locks it for me and won’t let me save or even close it until they come back out of the file, yet I can go in and out of the file with them when we work as a pair

@@bogura Make a copy or better, start with a fresh one. Do you have the problem then too? Drop data and sheets from your original and see how it behaves... That is what I would do.

PresentationPoint that could take some time, there are 1200 records to move each one is 4 rows xD I have tried with a blank new sheet and the same thing happens it locks and sometimes disconnects people from it
