Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. There are no videos on blade cleaning so if you would like to go in depth on your cleaning setup, that would be appreciated :)

Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. In two years, I’ve yet to find a reliable place to sharpen my blades. Thinking of buying my own sharpener.

Question : Why the Suffolk DTS03 setter , vs the Wood-Mizer BMT 250 setter? I own and operate Smithfield Saw & Knife in Trenton Ontario Canada, for 31 years now....specializing mostly in "finish and kitchen cabinetry carpentry"....full auto saw grinders for carbide tipped saw blades, Akemat and Vollmer etc, and full auto knife grinders, Gockel etc.......so the small band world is not my primary customer base, but I want the best equipment , to offer the best job.

Hi. I have one question ... why does it see and hear, that grinder touches blades 2 times per "cycle"? I also see 2 "sparks" in a cycle and I do not understand why this happens. Thank you.
@jellevr884 жыл бұрын
I have been asking myself the same question...
@TheEverydayGods11 ай бұрын
It is designed this way so that it removes two light passes each cycle to avoid damaging the grinding wheel and heating up the metal on the blade.
@sawdustjohnpa8 жыл бұрын
What type of wheel are you using on that blade cleaner. I need to build something that will do the same job. Thanks,

how many grinds you get out of a band and are you sawing precuts or logs
@jamaica87917 жыл бұрын
We get 3 out of 1-1/4" wide and 4 out of 1-1/2" wide and about 6 out of 2" on average. All depends on how customer takes care of everything.

Every video I look for on how to sharpen metal cutting bandsaw blades is someone sharpening a wood blade. Where are the videos on how to sharpen a metal cutting blade?
@solidwoods69996 жыл бұрын
Metal cutting blades have much closer tooth space than wood cutting blades so it makes it difficult to sharpen .
@axewood21718 жыл бұрын
Looks like had a great profile grind but the oiler needs to be cleaned out. You need better oil flow on the wheel and blade as to prevent premature wheel wear.
@SemetalsNet8 жыл бұрын
The oiler does flow well. The video shows low oil so we could get a good camera shot.

step one buy a costly machine to do the work for you so all you do s push button.........
@eddyandgoliath64699 жыл бұрын
I've been sharpening blades for 25 years If all you had to do was push a button anybody could make easy money
@SemetalsNet9 жыл бұрын
+try duck You forgot about step 2, put video on KZbin, and await someone to make a rude comment. I wish it was so easy that all we have to do is push a button, but if you watch and listen, you will see there are more steps than just turning on a machine.
