Ben takes take you step by step through the process of sharpening the flat chisel in the third part of this four part series that includes the gouge, the skew chisel, the flat chisel, and the spindle gouge. The flat chisel is used for making smoothing, planing cuts and can be used to cut woodworking joints.
In this series Ben uses a Tormek T4 Bushcraft Edition Grinder, Japanese Combination Waterstones, Japanese Slip Stones, Paddle Strop, the Orford Carving Tool Sharpening Set, Tormek paste and Camelia Oil. He also offers you options if you cannot access a Grinder (including Diamond Stones or Regrinding services). Ben then shows you the basic use of each chisel for turning on a lathe.
