I started using clear bags with the Ziplock style closures. That way, the buyer can reuse it for something. It is so much easier to put the items in poly bags or padded envelopes when they are contained. Plus it is an extra layer of protection in case the package is left in a wet place. Especially for items that are worth over $100. Thermal printers are definitely worth it, even to a part time seller!

It's amazing how cheap your shipping is, I started selling on eBay in March 2020, I have 172 sales, I find shipping in Canada sucks compared to what you're getting in the US, what's also funny is it's cheaper for me to send an item under 500g(18oz) to the US then it is to ship the same item within Canada. I've watched some of your videos in the past, but I missed out on some great information, will be watching alot more of your videos since I'm putting alot more time on eBay. I work 2 jobs(70 hours per week) and do eBay, the goal is to drop the 2nd job to replace it with eBay. thanks for the help.

1) do I need a legal business name to upgrade my personal eBay account ? 2) what about legal email address or should I do it later
@FlaNative34 жыл бұрын
No legal business name required - you can operate as a sole proprietor; if you want a legal liability shield, you can pay to create a corporation (there are annual fees & requirements). Small resellers usually don’t incorporate if you aren’t selling things that are inherently hazardous. There is no such thing as a “legal” email address. You can create an email address that is just for eBay stuff if you want (I keep my personal email separate). You can create your own domain name and use it for email, but that takes time, skill and money - you don’t have to do that unless you want to. I am a PT seller so I just use gmail but any messages from eBay go to your eBay Messages.

Call eBay and discuss it with them - it’s not scam. Believe it or not, there have been eBay sellers who don’t ship items they have sold - they obviously don’t have their act together. It also has to do with the possibility of items being returned because both eBay and PayPal have buyer protection policies. When I started reselling 2 1/2 years ago, PayPal was holding all funds for a period of time. That went on for months. Now they are not held anymore.

If your item sold but you don’t have “Require Immediate Pay” checked off under Preferences, then the buyer has up to 3 days to pay. If they don’t pay, you can open an unpaid item case.
