If the customer doesnt accept a piece because they believe there is a shipping damage ? ( I will see of someone asked that question in the comments or if you address it along another video
@TheMissFlips2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t experienced that, but you can pay for insurance up to $6000 for like $67 on uship I believe.

What do you do when the estimated shipping cost for across the country is insanely high, vs one state over? For example - if I wanted to ship a 15 lb side table to Seattle, it’s about $1500… but Atlanta it’s about $180.
@TheMissFlips Жыл бұрын
What?? That’s crazy! I’ve never had an estimate that high ever. The most I’ve ever paid was $700 and that was for a big piece of furniture. I honestly don’t have much experience selling smaller pieces on Etsy though. Most of my items are large dressers. I’d recommend sticking with those

I’m looking to sell my great grandparents berkey and gay dressers, they both have mirrors on posts that are removable. I’m concerned about what happens if there is any damage in shipping? Is there any insurance with uship? Are the mirrors calculated separately when you ship? If you sell on market place what payment service do you use? I need guidance 😂
@TheMissFlips2 жыл бұрын
Haha you’re good! Uship does have an insurance option for an additional fee. As for the mirrors, I’m not entirely sure, but I would assume that it would be more fair for the driver if you listed them as separate. And for Facebook, I use basically any payment app or cash. So if someone doesn’t have Venmo or PayPal, I can be right there with any other one they have and vice versa. This is of course different if they buy ON Facebook itself. They you guys paid through Facebook. Hope this helps!

I have 2 additional questions: So regarding the packaging- all you do is wrap it in a blanket, then they do the saran wrap, blanket and tie down? Do you find there's a minimum size piece or price point for selling pieces on Etsy to be shipped? (For example, is it worth your time to try and ship a small nightstand versus a large sideboard?) Plan to get my Etsy up and running by the end of the month!
@nicolejuhan23602 жыл бұрын
I also mean to ask- what if something gets broken? Is there insurance, do they fix it, who pays for that?
@TheMissFlips2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions love! Packaging: you don’t have to do anything. They bring the blankets, straps, sometimes Saran Wrap and they do it all for you. But it’s up to you. You can package it however you want before hand just to be extra safe. Insurance: there is an option to pay for insurance and I’m not really sure how that works as far as who pays for it. They probably don’t fix it, but they will compensate you for whatever you put as the coverage amount. Piece size: I find that it’s worth shipping anything as long as you calculate the price of shipping into the total price of the piece when selling on etsy. There isn’t a minimum size or anything. I shipped a nightstand a few months ago. Shipping is expensive, but if people want your work, it’ll be worth it for them

Hello! Sorry for being annoying but if I put the average shipping cost for a far away place on the Etsy listing (i.e $530) and someone needs it shipped like one state over but they paid the $530 and lets say the shipping only ended up being $320 then what happens to that excess $220? Do I get that and is that fair or is that like lying? lol I just wanna be as ethical as possible. sorry & thank u!!!
@TheMissFlips5 ай бұрын
No apology necessary! Here’s what I do: I include it in the price of the piece. So I don’t charge it separately. So let’s say you’re charging $1000 for your piece, but the average price of shipping far away is $530. I put $1530 as the total price and say Free Shipping. This makes sure that you are covered no matter what and makes them feel like they’re getting a great deal! And hey, if it ends up being one state over, they bought the piece at that price so they obviously thought it was worth the money spent!
@margueriteryan35502 жыл бұрын
Hi, how do you I determine the shipping amount before it’s sold?
@TheMissFlips2 жыл бұрын
I always include the highest shipping possible. So you can go to uship and get an estimate. So for me, I’m in Georgia so I’d probably choose some place like Washington just to get the furthest place possible and include that price in my listing. Then if someone close by buys it, that just means that they thought it was worth the price

I don’t offer returns for purchases over $600 and I make sure to include that in all of my listings. Also, how big is your piece that you’re shipping?? I’ve never had to pay more than $800 and that was during peak gas prices

@@TheMissFlips it’s literally no bigger that a 3ft coffee table but I sadly I don’t live in a big city so the prices got jacked up. @@thefirsttrillionaire2925 well if you get the insurance it would cover any damages that happen in transit. But also, if it’s $400 from Atlanta, try listing it at $400 and just see if someone picks it up! You don’t have to accept if they make an offer. Just see what you can get! Also, I’ve never had anyone damage my pieces so just make sure that it’s packaged properly and it should be fine. Don’t worry. I was definitely nervous with my first shipping, but you don’t have to accept just any shipper. You can choose based on ratings and experience. So be selective! Don't think Etsy would be happy with this. Sounds like a lot of delays in shipping equalling bad reviews. Sitting around waiting for a truck to pull up plus what kind of insurance do you have giving it to one person vs. say UPS or USPS? Seems extremely risky and shady!
@TheMissFlips Жыл бұрын
It’s not at all actually! Uship is one of the main ways that Etsy sellers ship furniture. Plus, Etsy doesn’t care how you ship. It’s not then that gets the bad rating, it’s you. But I have great ratings in part because of uship. Ups and the like would charge thousands and often dont ship pieces that large. Uship is a verified service where you get to choose who picks up your piece based off ratings and experience. Uship also comes with optional insurance that covers any damages. There’s also enough drivers on the app that you rarely have to wait more than a few days for pickup. And drop off typically doesn’t take more than a week. Don’t knock it till you try it Francis!
