Night time lapses are mesmerizing and beautiful, and shooting a time lapse of the stars and Milky Way tracing across the night sky isn't hard. At the core, all you need is a tripod and a camera with a fast lens and time lapse option.

Another great video my friend ! Fortunately where I live here in Moab Utah dew is not an issue pretty much year round. ;-) However we have been over run with smoke the last week or so from the wild fires from Canada and also the western US so I'm patiently waiting for rain or for fall to arrive. This summer has not been good for astro-photography at all. I hope that changes come September, fingers crossed. I have not used my dslr in some time but I think I will do some star trail photography next month or in September when the the weather clears. I don't recall if you did a video on shooting star trails with a dslr, I will take a look back at your videos but if not that would be another great instructional video to do. As always, love what you do and I look forward to when you publish a new video, great stuff ! Cheers from Moab...(Where it's damn hot right now) LOL ;-)

It's been a long time since I've been down there, but I recall there were a lot of good, clear nights. Hopefully, that smoke clears up soon. I don't think I've yet done a video specifically on shooting star trails, though I've done it before. I am sure you already know it's just a matter of extending your exposure time out to minutes and lowering your ISO to compensate.

It's been a LONG time since I made a star trail image, so I shot one last night. This morning, while going to process it, I discovered the motion trail function in Davinci no longer comes with the free version of the software, so the suggestion I gave you in my previous reply isn't valid unless you have paid Davinci or maybe PhotoShop offers it. StarStax is a good way to go about it these days.

Your videos are legendary. Extremely relevant at my current knowledge and skill level as well. You deserve way way more subs than what you have. Keep it up. My eyes are peeled for new videos!

It won't all be on editing. When I made the channel, I intended to devote half the episodes to astronomy and related science. I hope to get back to that soon.

Perfect timing of this video as I'm planning on a trip to the Florida Keys August 11th to shot the meteor shower.

Hi …I add your videos to my essential notes for astrophotography.🍁 Would you please make a video on how to create a time lapse video from this data in DaVinci Resolve? ❤️

I will do as soon as I can. It's really easy in Davinci Resolve, though. Select all the videos and drag them into the timeline. It will automatically string them in order into a video.
