This was so helpful! I tend to shoot with one camera but it’s because my films have been very simple. Now I’m going to transition to more dialogue films, I will need more cameras/shooters. The triangle diagram was VERY helpful!

Great Victoriously Vee Films. I'm glad the video was helpful.
@foljs58583 жыл бұрын
"Now I’m going to transition to more dialogue films, I will need more cameras/shooters" Many directors with tens or hundreds of millions of budget still shoot with one camera, because it makes for more professional results (you can light each angle dedicated and place the camera anywhere you want without having to consider other cameras getting in the way, or having to compromise lighting one angle because another camera's angle needs a different lighting). More cameras are useful for getting faster results (less retakes of a scene, more angles to edit), but they're often considered as a compromise. So, those directors (like e.g. Tarantino) would shoot this scene in the video with 1 camera, place it dedicated for the first and then the second actor, and have them do the scene twice (or more for safety), one with the camera over the first actor's shoulder and another time with the camera over the second actor's shoulder.

good day. wonderful channel. i was wondering how i could video a distant dialogue scene and still capture the audio from afar( like 3 electric poles away). i guess i will have to attach a mic to the actors body
@africaamaze2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use lav mics or do what most pro's will do. It's an extreme wide shot hence, let the actors master the scene then play it severally so you capture a shot with good audio in a close up mode then also shoot a wide shot. After which, you can take audio from the close up's into the extreme wide shot

This is really cool. But one question: How do I edit these 3 angles all together when I want the characters to dance to music in a shot? wouldn't the music sound choppy?
@africaamaze Жыл бұрын
You simply shoot that part like a music video. You play the same sound for the different characters and replace it with the original sound in post.
@SolaceMusic Жыл бұрын
@@africaamaze Sorry, i don't mean to be a bother but i'm confused. I want the characters to be talking over the music and at one point talking about the music. If I shoot a single-camera scene like this video, how do I edit the clips together without the music getting interrupted? Is it about timing?
@africaamaze Жыл бұрын
@@SolaceMusic The best way to use one camera in that scenario is to play the music and react or talk about it. Then in editing, you lay the music again on it. The only thing to take note of while shooting is to make sure that your mic can hear the part of the music you are playing and reacting to. The other alternative will be to master the lyrics of the song and instead of playing it, you just ask about those specific aspects and lay the music at that part to match those areas in the editing

So I’m from Liberian and live in Florida as a professional fitness trainer. What is the best was to shoot with one camera and everything ? Thanks
@africaamaze4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching ChancyFit. I have gone ahead to check out your channel before answering you. Great content you have up there. How you can achieve a lot with just one camera is by repeating the same actions again and shooting it from different angles. In your use case for example, if you're teaching a certain move or workout which concentrates more on a certain body part, you could shoot the whole video from one angle then change to another angle or shoot close up of the most important body parts whiles repeating the same action. If that is well done, you will actually make it look like you're shooting on multiple cameras. However, an extra bonus tip in this case will be you shooting the highest available quality in your camera so you can zoom in during editing without loosing quality. I hope this answer will be helpful. Thank you.
@ChancyFit4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏. It’s almost better to use two cameras than sounds like(save a lot of time). Thank you brother
@africaamaze4 жыл бұрын
@@ChancyFit Yes, I totally agree with you because the actual problem with one camera production is it's huge time consumption. So you're better just shooting with two cameras if time isn't something favourable to you.

@africaamaze2 жыл бұрын
You need to record every angle separately then press record again for another shot. So every shot is a different video since you always stop recording after every shot
@danielshamu88902 жыл бұрын
You need to shoot the whole dialogue 4-5 times from different angles depending on the number of angles you've chosen & then edit & merge the scenes accordingly, the actors need to retake the scene as many times as your angles, over and over until you shoot from all angles.
