I plan on watching and taking every class you have. That is my plan to stop living from paycheck to paycheck and to use whatever i can get my hands on to do what i love and want to do on your level, finding clients looking for spec commercials and not docu or wedding films. Ive got so much more brain power than that and i thank you for putting this content out! This is what ive been looking for!

Nice one. I enjoyed the talk. I enjoy the fast stuff that Beyond the press in Finland do, they use Cronos cameras. And huge amounts of water cooled led lighting, Lauri was also talking a bit about about the workflow when he evaluated a newer version in monochrome. If one shoots monochrome the speeds can go up. I presume it's the data size that determines that, as the rgb component is not present.

Great video and explanation. I've watched all the others - did I miss somewhere in the LED videos how you are able to dim the LEDs without using PWM somewhere along the way? Do you just use an extremely high frequency PWM on the order of a few KHz? Or do you filter out the PWM which essentially reduces the current by reducing the voltage?

@jessl28994 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve. how do you shoot a pouring liquid and need to remove the background later?
@TheGarageLearning4 жыл бұрын
Jess Limot that is very technically challenging as liquid reflects and refracts whatever is behind it. You can try shooting against green or blue chromakey backgrounds or white or black depending on what the final background is going to be.

I just got into slow motion photography and I'm building some LED lights for it. Any recommendations to a good DC-DC boost converter that wont flicker? I ordered some to test but they have not gotten to me yet. I just happen to have a dozen or so 20ah 13v LIFe batteries laying around I want to use but the 100 watt LED chips like 32v at 3 amps CC so the boost converter is needed.
@lisboasuave-theroyalteahou37174 жыл бұрын
Good explanation, thanks 👌 That led is costume made? How many W's? Liquid for cooling?
@TheGarageLearning4 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is one of our custom LED's. They are 1800W and liquid cooled

Thanksfor the detailed video. But I have some questiins left: 1.) You didnt say how much light you needed to output in your setup. 2.) What lights you recommend not flickering? 3.) What framerates do you shoot your food stuff at most of the time?
@TheGarageLearning4 жыл бұрын
smepable Mg 1. It all depends on the size of the set, f-stop, and quality (hard / soft) of light. Here I was using our custom led light at about 1000W shooting F. 2.8 2. Plasma lights, some LED’s, and well, we use our custom LEDs since we made them not to flicker and to be high power. 3. Between 120-1000 for most shots. Some just as 48-72 sometimes

Hey Steve. What do you think about the editing trick of duplicate the video, displace it 1 frame and reduce transparency 50% to eliminate flickering? Does it work with super high frame rates?
@TheGarageLearning4 жыл бұрын
Damian Reyes that can help sometimes but can also cause some weird things to happen as well. It’s much better to just shoot without flicker especially if it’s for a client
