Eli - Great video! TikTok is only going to display at 1080p? What are the benefits of filming in 4k?
@Sarahlee521062 жыл бұрын
Video quality captured is better. My guess is video captured in 4k and downscalled to 1080p looks better than video captured at 1080p
@dpend Жыл бұрын
Downscaled video always looks better than shot natively at a given resolution, also gives you wiggle room of cropping in on shots without losing quality.

Just a question. Is the vertical format done on purpose for real estate? True video is horizontal as the frame size mimics our horizontal visual experience. When touring a house I would think that each room you enter is a panoramic moment. A horizontal frame gives your eyes time to scan. If you were filming this with a DSLR or mirrorless 35 mm, I can’t imagine that you would rotate the camera vertical. For that same reason I think 90% of real estate shots are horizontal unless they are the cover of your brochure. can you explain this video format to me. Hoping to start doing videos soon. Video is nicely done - I was trying to scan the driveway, etc but the speed bump style was too fast for me if I was interested in the house.
@paulwhealy52432 жыл бұрын
II think I can answer my own question. In listening to Eli’s intro again, I ‘m guessing real estate agents are going to show these videos to folks on their phone and if he/she sends it to a prospect on site, they are going to end up with it on their phone - and probably watch it on their phone. That explains the vertical format. And re my second part of question, would you also do a normal horizontal video the agent can post on their site as pert of that listing? Looking at listings on the web, the monitor is horizontal ± iPads are horizontal. Your video is nicely shot but it feels like I’m seeing the whole house through a tall narrow window.

Hey! 👋 iPhones typically have much better video and photo, but that may not be true with SOME androids and other phones. Not sure on the exact ones, but if the quality doesn’t look good, it may be best to get an Iphone or use another method! So I’m guessing this is a standard zoom for the video, but how do you get rid of the rolling shutter? I’ve noticed with mine that I see it most in the corners and with artwork on the wall.
@jg_jgjg2 жыл бұрын
Lots of variables in this question. First, they use an iPhone. No zoom, and the standard iPhone lens (with the best aperture) is around the 28mm focal length. Second, if you’re using a mirrorless or dlsr, some do rolling shutter better than others.

These videos are not in ultra wide correct ? it’s the normal camera ?
@Sarahlee52106 Жыл бұрын
Looks like they used the DJI Mimo app to record this reel. That app ONLY uses the standard camera lens for recording. It doesn't allow for you to use the ultra wide camera through their app. If you wanted to use the ultra wide lens of your camera, you would have to first balance the gimbal with the DJI Mimo app, then go back to your native camera app, switch to the ultra wide, then record from there.

Some days I think everyone has lost their mind. Vertical video for real estate is brutal. And absolutely in no way it does it show the home better than landscape orientation If you’re actually going to buy a house.. Do you want to make your initial decisions on interest based on visuals that are basically thin aspect images showing too much ceiling and floor? At “trendy” Hyperlapse speed? What is the point? “because the algorithm favors vertical videos” You’re not a teen girl producing a make up tutorial. What algorithm? Any given real estate agent has like .. 4 likes… on their postings. The irony is *this* KZbin video showing the videographer doing his work shows the house better than his actual final product. Why? Because it is wide angle images in landscape orientation.

It doesn’t do much good to watch someone who is not teaching as he goes. You said this was from your course that I was highly thinking about, but there is no real instruction, he mumbles and goes too fast. Not being a Karen, just meant for feedback. I want to learn and not just watch.

Yah I don't know how he did the Speed Ramps like that. He must have a preset, but if this is a tutorial showing us how to do this, it should include how to make the speed ramps. The only way I've found a way to do it is very slow and methodical. I Googled how to make speed ramps, but all the ways I've seen it done isn't as fast as he adds them.
