The "look up and down" of the talent in 60 fps is so clutch! I've never thought of that before. I've always just randomly shot the talent-doing whatever for more "emotions" coverage. Thanks for this man! Solid tips all around 🔥🙌🏻

Great tips !!! The techniques with positioning people to look up or down is amazing. As a matter of fact I’ll be using what I learned from this video this weekend. Thank you with much respect.

This is all great information! And I just wanted to add for other viewers: If you're looking to get some hands-on experience, do like I did and see if any of your local news stations are looking for freelance photographers. Over the past 2 years, I've racked up probably about 2000 or 3000 hours of hands-on experience learning a TON of what you'll need to learn to be a documentary filmmaker. A lot of this stuff is now muscle memory for me and I would NOT be as far along as I am without it. I work with a reporter all the time now when I'm at the station, but I've also done a ton of what we call VOSOTs (Voice Over/Sound On Tape), where I'm not just out getting the b-roll, editing, and shooting the interviews, but I'm out there by myself and am the one conducting the interviews, having to come up with my own questions and everything. I did A LOT more of that in the beginning than working with reporters. It's been a godsend for me and if you can make it happen, I'd highly suggest looking into it. You'd be surprised at how desperate stations are to get their hands on eager photographers and how willing they are to train and mentor you. There's a real shortage of us out there in this field, apparently.
