Great tips and thumbs up for straight into them, and I'm glad you mentioned the importance of the correct lighting and settings in the initial picture! With the slightly overexposed point, I find that I need to be careful and even slightly underexpose as I find during editing it's easy to add brightness, plus you get the additional details by not losing highlights :)

Nice. But what ISO is best and what Shutter speed? Those were left out of the camera settings part. I'm not well off financially to afford the nice 1.4's but all I can get are the 2.8's.
@KimChristopher04 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles! Thanks so much for watching! I left out the ISO and shutter speed because that will 100% depend on the available light! For example, outdoors in diffused bright light, my settings might be 2.0 aperture, 100 ISO, and 1/800 shutter speed. Outdoors at sunset when the light is lower and not as bright, my settings could be 2.0, 800 ISO, and 1/250 shutter speed. So you will have to adjust the shutter and ISO depending on your light! I generally will always keep my f stop between 1.8-2.8 and adjust the other settings to get a good exposure. I hope that makes sense! You can definitely still get a nice looking image and background with 2.8 lens!

How do u meter? Spot?
@KimChristopher03 жыл бұрын
Yes, spot meter but honestly I check the back of the camera to make sure it looks exposed properly and the highlights aren't clipped.

@@KimChristopher0 so is the overexposed/low contrast/blown out highlights a thing now in wedding photography? I see Kaitlyn James does the same thing
