Concise and to the point - exactly what I needed. Appreciated not having to hear a 15-minute backstory about how you e.g. fixed the blinds for your brother's new house once.

Grrrrear video; finished in 15 mins. If you take a lighter and burn the pull strings slightly, they become stiff and very easy to thread through the holes. Thank you sooo much for your demonstration. 💕

You’re welcome! Shortening mini blinds isn’t exactly an intuitive thing to do but I’m glad you found my video on how to do it. I’ve shortened a lot of blinds between all the replacements and new installs I’ve had to do. It’s a new skill you’ll be able to use in the future! Thanks for watching!

I was about to buy custom blinds but after your video I feel confident I can do this. I’m sure I’ll be watching it again after I receive my new blinds. Thanks🤗
@TheRenderQ3 жыл бұрын
Yes! You can shorten the mini blinds found at at Home Depot and Lowe’s pretty easily. I have shortened many blinds now. If the pre-measured blinds are slightly off in width a lot of times the store can cut them to fit. Then all you do is install and shorten. Thanks for watching!

I’m not sure how cordless blinds work! But this method probably won’t work with them since the strings are going to be looped in differently. Sorry I’m not more help!

if anyone can link a video on how to restring this type of cordeless blind. while shortening, the two lead strings escaped, zipping up into the top bar. 😫
@marciaadamslandry23563 жыл бұрын
Make sure this isn’t done on blinds without a cord..or self lifting blinds!
@TheRenderQ3 жыл бұрын
Yes! This tutorial only works for standard blinds with pull cords.
@andyjprice749210 ай бұрын
save some frustration by tying the knot on the pull string before cutting, just slide the bell out of the way.

Looks very complicated.
@TheRenderQ8 ай бұрын
I can understand that shortening blinds looks intimidating. I remember the first one I ever repaired. It was nerve racking cutting the first string. I was thinking I was going to ruin the blind or actually repair it. I have now used this process to repair/replace many blind strings. It works!
@cynthiastanislaus30758 ай бұрын
@TheRenderQ I'm nervous to try, but I will eventually. Thanks for your video.
@logans3454 Жыл бұрын
DO NOT DO THIS ON CORDLESS BLINDS WITHOUT SOMHOW SECURING AT LEAST ONE OF THE LIFT STINGS!!! If you don't, they will all suck up into the mechanism and it's a SOB to get back out. I suggest a set small vice grips at the top if you have them otherwise only do one string at a time.
