I had a hard time with this but it's just the running Man after your knee goes up you twist hop and put your foot down immediately then other knee goes up, then twist hop and put your other foot down. The twist and putting the foot down happens at the same time That's the key and that's what makes the hip motion

I’m a contemporary dancer but I have always wanted to learn other styles of dance when I decided I was gonna learn hip hop the corona virus came so I have been using your tutorials. I have learn a few heel toe movements and I have learnt this as well it is actually getting easier because I’m used to very soft smooth movements this was quite a change up for me

These videos are so useful... 20 mins in I learned the basic footwork pattern of left, left, right, both (front heel, back toes), right, right, left, both (most recent foot shoots in front). 40 mins in I could do the knee raise, twist, footwork all for at least 4 counts of 8 at a decent pace. I wish he didn't do the opposite mirrored thing. My brain automatically does the "math" for the mirrored image and then he says the wrong leg and it throws me off. Great videos aside from that though.

wondering.. i have wood floors in my house, most of my shoes have a lot of friction which makes the glides/moon walking difficult.are shoes a factor w dance? am i not distributing my weight properly? thanks ahead of time- tutorials are always great

The shoes might be a factor when you are just learning. But once you master the step the shoes don't matter anymore.

I'm having a problem with moving forward instead of staying on the same horizontal. Every time I put my outside leg down, like seen in the video, I'm stepping forward, but, there is no move to step back. Should I be shifting in a backward angle on one?

you have to do a little jump in place while switching the legs and landing at the same time so you don't move forward.
