I may not be academically smart but I'm proud of my critical thinking skills. I think being in a Catholic school, having interest in psychology ,meeting different kinds of people in life plus my parent's toxic marriage helped me to spot red flags and lies.

So true, I always thank my parents for raising me well and giving me education. And with that, I am analytical and critical minded individual. And now, as my kids grow up, I am letting them speak their minds and let them be curious and ask a lot of whys and what, and to that we need to research for answers to know more.

I really love it this episode. Ang daming wisdoms and mapapaisip ka talaga sa upbringing mo, am i raised well? Ang galing lang. Sana tayong lahat magkaroon ng concious effort to self check ourselves, naniniwala ba tayo agad sa fake news? Are we unknowingly spreading it? Nagfafact check ba muna tayo? Everything goes down sa kung gaano tayo kadaling maniwala as a person o mag iisip ka muna at pag aaralan yung mga naririnig/nababasa/napapanood natin. CRITICAL THINKING is the key 🗝. You hit it in the head Bianca when you mentioned the term "critical thinking"!.. Parents should 'train' their kids to be critical thinkers so they grow up knowing how to follow their inner compass.

I just know that Mr. Renato Constantino, Sr. is Ms. Karmina Constantino's grand father. Wow, I appreciated so much the writings of the man. His was the first readings where I learned to develop a critical political thinking. I love to recall the book "Dissent and Counter-consciousness" when I was yet in my secondary education in our mountainous locality in Mindanao where traditional politicians mushroomed, and in the process destroy the Philippine body politics.

1. Usually, I search for pages which are credible for me. (E.g. Abs-cbn, CNN Philippines, Phil. Star, Daily Inquirer or people I deem/ a lot of people deem having integrity.) 2. If some pictures seem doubtful, I try to find related videos if there are any. 3. Definitely, the environment we were brought up has a huge effect on how we critically think and act. These include our parents, and extended family, and also our school. This is where another problem lies wherein politics is also involved. If we will not elect the right people, our educational system will not improve. Hence, it will affect us, and the next generations. 4. As for echo chamber, I admit that I am in an echo chamber as my family, and my bffs are also for VP Leni, and some of my officemates are also for Leni. To go out of the chamber, I had to tell our extended fam's viber group why I am voting for VP Leni, including on how she and Mr. Jesse raised their children. Some of them were saying they didn't like Leni because she's "mahina". I stayed firm until the convo ended. I don't believe that it has something to do with the gender. It's always based on the person. Another uncle said that he's voting for XXX. I told him, I'll never consider that person because he doesn't have any achievements, and other facts. 1 aunt and 1 uncle switched to Leni. Yes, it takes courage to be disliked, especially if they are literally your family. Another truth is, it's easier to talk to people who are undecided. We cannot impose but we can only present facts. I love your talk with Ms. Karmina.
