Can we talk about the layering and volume?! I mean, even back in the day when I had a relaxer and swore by the Dominican salons, I never left with my wash and set having its own life and personality, like this silk press...wtf! Now, I'm all natural and I got a blow out in 2018 for the first time in 5 1/2 years, and after $60 dollars and a walk to / from the train station my hair (which was straight. flat, and dry when I left the salon) had a whole Ms. Diana Ross big frizzy situation! I LOVE your work! Who can you recommend in NYC?

What's the difference from a silk press and a regular blow out & flat iron?

That's what a silk press is. The words "silk press" is just the term of it.

They wrap it in like a saran wrap with a serum and dry it under a hooded dryer.

This is what I want to know! Looks like the regular flat iron process to me. I've seen people do a silk press and they wrap your head in plastic wrap and stick you under the dryer. All these others look like regular flat irons to me

Miss K maybe use a different heat protectant? I know you didn’t ask me, totally not a stylist!! Haha I used to get that smell but this time I did a press I used different products (Shea moisture silicone free miracle styler leave in, Kenya blow dry spray - see glam twins press tutorial, and I’m using the original chi flat iron again). I still need work but my hair can out straight with movement!!!

Hey I agree try the Kenra Blow-Dry spray I only use that with maybe a little bit of bio silk to press my hair out and no burnt smell. The Kenra is rated for 450 degree heat protection
