I've done this hairstyle on myself hundreds of times. It's easy! Use your fingers instead of a brush to get your hair into the high ponytail, straightening your fingers to lift them slightly in the places where you want more volume. Twist the hair just enough that it stays together. Braid your hair the night before if you want more texture.

I am amazed - this actually worked for my hair. I've been watching so many tutorials to find a way to do a messy bun with long hair (almost knee length) and none have worked but this actually did. I didn't do all the hair prep or anything cause it's just a casual hairstyle for me but it worked!

What I’ve learned/heard about larger foreheads is that wearing a high pony tail (actually pretty high) helps balance it out. It worked for me at least.

I've been wearing a messy french twist type of bun thing for many years. It's my go to up style. I didn't learn it from anywhere. I just kind of did it. Funny enough, I do it a lot like she does, pulling bits here and there. I don't use styling product, though. My hair is naturally curly do it has body on its own. Update: I just chopped all mine off. 😱 No more cute updos for me for many years. I'm still in shock. 😢
