I've done this hairstyle on myself hundreds of times. It's easy! Use your fingers instead of a brush to get your hair into the high ponytail, straightening your fingers to lift them slightly in the places where you want more volume. Twist the hair just enough that it stays together. Braid your hair the night before if you want more texture.

I am amazed - this actually worked for my hair. I've been watching so many tutorials to find a way to do a messy bun with long hair (almost knee length) and none have worked but this actually did. I didn't do all the hair prep or anything cause it's just a casual hairstyle for me but it worked!

What I’ve learned/heard about larger foreheads is that wearing a high pony tail (actually pretty high) helps balance it out. It worked for me at least.
