You left out #5, which I call the Slim Pickins technique. You use a little touch of voice crack where you go to a higher frequency for a split second. I think Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks use it a little. And #6 Unecesary amounts of vibrato, which of course is how Toby Keith sings any time he holds a note longer than a split second.

Its crazy how much tongue placement makes a difference. Pack your tongue into the front of your jaw and youll get a Waylon sound, bring it back into your throat and lay it flat and youll get a George Jones sound. I learned by mimicking the voices of legends and practiced for years and im at a point i dont think i sound half bad.

@tayloracademyofmusic88732 жыл бұрын
Fair question! Learning how to tell the distance between notes (interval training) is a great way of teaching your ear and throat how to work together to sing the right note. Check out our video on this that shows you how to get started on learning how to hit the right pitches! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipSmaHWVjaibnJY

Oh so voice buzz is vocal fry! And you can use vocal fry throughout your range? This is new! I can only use it before my first break (around a G4)! Thanks for this
@tayloracademyofmusic8873 Жыл бұрын
Yes! Using voice buzz, specifically through your break, helps your vocal folds stay closed and connected so that you don’t accidentally break/flip when you don’t mean to! My suggestion would be to use a very low amount of volume, then slowly build up your stability of using voice buzz in the E4-B4 range. If done properly, you should be able to very lightly speak in that range using your relaxed chest voice without pushing or pulling. Best of luck and thanks for watching! 🙌
@KyOte1310 ай бұрын
What about twang?
@tayloracademyofmusic88735 ай бұрын
Yes! To help stretch and strengthen to be able to go higher with buzz, reduce volume (while maintaining breathless sounding buzz) until you get a more relaxed crackle! This should allow you to keep buzz past your break. Repeat this stretch daily adding a tiny bit of pressure until you can maintain buzz around that G4 without your voice breaking or flipping to head voice!
