Thank you for all the info you put out, for people who already have a foundation in compression/support your videos are amazing for nerds like me, i dont think it would be popular but i would love to see what its like for you to warm up on a bad day, i have sinus issues and for me when i warm up my head voice i cant do it around people bc most people dont understand that its repulsive to the ears but rewarding as all hell.

Here’s a step-by-step method to find the upper vocal distortion a bit easier: 1. Start by clearing your throat with a natural hm hm sound as if you’re trying to clear in daily basis. Feel the vibration of the cartilage and remember this position and sensation. 2. Take a note in a slightly high chest voice and transition into falsetto with a break. It should feel as natural as possible. You’ll get a slightly high falsetto note. 3. Now, change the formant by pulling the falsetto back as much as possible, imitating an “opera” sound. Do not lower your larynx! check with your hands to ensure it stays in the middle or slightly up. Make a "uuu" sound with slightly pursed lips. 4. In this position, increase the airflow and try to replicate the sensation from step 1. If done correctly, the distortion will appear naturally; it should feel as natural as possible. And it’s light sound without any compression, it’s very closer to the break. From there, you can start experimenting with this distorted falsetto, adding density and volume to achieve a scream or lowering the pitch and position for a more metalcore sound. You can also add nasality, raise the larynx, and so on. Do not shout! Better quality should be around 80-85db finally with a full voice. Maybe it’s bill be helpful to somebody, of course it’s difficult to understand without a video but I’m didn’t see any lesson with this method on KZbin. Maybe the author of this video can try such method and make a lesson)

Wow, the way you broke down Layne's vocal technique makes it seem achievable for anyone. Appreciate the detailed guidance!

How ya doin buddy 😊 good stuff as always, I've been learning allot lately about mixed / head voice and implementing what I've learned into my voice, a ton of help from your videos😊 so thank you for that, the thing I need to remember the most is correct support , vowel modification, and the right amount of compression, and good chord closure, sometimes it's hard to remember all these things in the moment of singing it but it's been such a big help so thank you 🤘

Yeah man. You might want to split those things up and focus on them independently or simply focus on practicing one of them for a couple weeks and then another. I learned slowly because I taught myself. It takes time to embody all of this stuff 😊

Also I can reach some pretty high notes in head voice, lightly... or with good support, but the creaky door👎 nope!!! Maybe I'm using the wrong placement ?? Not that I need whistle notes but I feel like it would help me understand where to get higher notes from . Unless I'm going about this all wrong😂

Creaky door is teaching you how to engage the mix muscles to connect better from chest to head. It’s confusing to get down right but keep trying man. 😊😊

@@SterlingRJackson ok, is it in a head voice placement? I think if I knew where to place it that would help 😆
