I agree, they are a killer band. They're one of the most successful bands that came out of Hollywood, I really don't think thats possible to do if you have a vocalist that can't sing. I think theres gotta something wrong with people that bash Vince all of the time, it makes no sense.

Vince Neil's vocals was the sleaze of Motley Crue and Nikki Sixx was the writer
@nunodarrell66062 жыл бұрын
Agreed! One of my favourite vocalists is John Corabi and love the album that Crüe did with him. But Vince has that iconic Crüe twang in his style. And props to Vince that he still sings it live and not going “Milli Vanilli” like a few bands do nowadays!
@scottparker79182 жыл бұрын
In an interview Nikki Sixx said, "When I first saw Vince perform I didn't think that he was a great singer, but he could certainly get the girls!" Mötley is my all time favorite band, and even though Vince's singing is now kind of shabby, I still love those guys!

Vince Neil 1985 or now? Lol. In all seriousness, Vince in his prime was not the most technically gifted singer but much like the also oft-criticized Stephen Pearcy, he had a signature sound with the swagger and attitude to match. Most importantly, his voice, just like Stephen Pearcy, fit so well within the makeup of the band he's in that no replacement could ever hope to take their place long-term because what they do is difficult to replicate.

@@strykerballcrush4650 I saw Motley in 2005 and it was the same. Talked to my brother who saw them in their "prime" in mid 80's and it was always kind of bad with missing words. I think that age and being out of shape has only added to the problem. Vince has a unique voice, seems like a cool guy in interviews but he is a studio singer, always has been. Nothing wrong with that, there are many others that are the same way...unique voices which gives bands their sound off the top of my head David Lee Roth, Axel Rose to name two.

I cant imagine it either, I've seen Vince solo a lot of times over the years, off the top of my head maybe a dozen times. Most if not all the time I'm close to the stage, they've all been great shows. I have a feeling that the people who criticize or complain about Vince most likely haven't been to many concerts, they see a clip on here and pass judgment. It's much different when you're actually at a live show in person. Personally, even if someone was to have an off night or foget a line or two occasionally I could care less. Shit happens, no one is perfect all the time.

Vince, much like Stephen Pearcy is more of a vocal stylist than a singer. To me, he is a combination of Robin Zander and David Lee Roth. Vince found ways to be successful, time and time again. He brought his A-game in the studio and had one hell of a run selling albums in the 80's. In interviews, Vince describes how arduous and painful the recording process was for him. So, I don't think he was very interested in recreating that vocal booth experience on tour. Motley concerts are parties with all the fans invited, and Vince does like to party. There are amazing sights in addition to the amazing sounds. I believe Vince perhaps sees himself more as a cog in the Motley machine than a spotlighted vocal performer. I haven't heard many reports of him no-showing or flaking out at concerts over the decades, he again found success in that role. These long tours necessitated the need to preserve the voice, and Vince has found ways to do that in his own way.

Vince is a terrible live singer now, but in the late 80s through the early 90s, he was as good as anyone. Live or in the studio. People don't care about technical ability, they care about the style and how cool the voice sounds for the music. And in those areas, he was untouchable and without him I highly doubt Motley Crue would've become one of the biggest bands in the world. I absolutely love his voice on record.
