How to Ski Parallel.
In this video we look at a tip for parallel skiing, extend the outside leg for the first part of the turn, then in the second part, flex your inside leg for more control and balance throughout the turn.
This will help to feel balance over the length of the whole outside ski throughout the turn.

Definitely something in this, watched it just before my first day here in Val D’Isere. I did have this in mind and it helped. There’s lots of different ‘models’ from various instructors for what is of course the same thing and this is definitely worth a go.

I prefer to think of my new outside ski extending into the top part of the turn as a result of the new inside ski un-weighting and tipping. I fear without professional eyes on the student they will jam that outside ski into the snow, skid around in a Z shaped turn and think all is well. People mix up cause and effect very easily.

Yes. That is a good way to think about it. And often I teach that if the student does extend that leg to a straight braced leg. Thank you for the comment.
