Crazy! We had paneling in our house too before we ripped it all out and went to a smooth skim coat. Didn’t do it ourselves though, but watching your tutorial gives me even more appreciation for what my guys did though! Saving this for when I might have to do it for my garage.

Looks great. I'm curious what the walls look like with a low angle light close to the wall. Re tips. you could add different colour pigments to every new coat of compound, that way you detect the voids a lot faster.

Good work but touching up skim coats after they’re sanding leaves a lot of mud flashing through paint due to an effect of over lapping/ burnishing the mud making it more compact in some areas and you can’t sand it down, so touch ups could be after prep coat or primer or just re skim whole wall after touch ups.
@cwebbertw6 ай бұрын
Did you sand the exisitng textured paint before applying the compound? or just clean the wall and put the compound over it? Because my textured paint wall has glossy finish on it, I'm afraid the compound can not grab onto it.

Hi Mike, I bought the sander and the Dustopper based on your recommendation. My question is how did you connect the house from the sander to the dustopper. It looks like you used white duct tape. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for your help!
