Great video, thanks for sharing!:) just a little FYI…I never knew this about any kind of cats, until I watched Trapper Chums latest video, there’s a little piece of ivory dangling by the cats shoulders after you skin him, I guess the scientists don’t know what’s it’s for, but people are using it for jewellery, earrings, etc…a necklace would look nice after you get a few more!:) Good luck on the line, take care, stay safe, from your fellow trapper friend, ME!

Beautiful bobcat! Excellent skinning work! It is difficult to explain skinning the head - cutting behind what you want to leave on the pelt. Was that bobcat still warm? I have fur trapped for 45 years and retired from my nuisance trapping business. I would really like to visit you and tag along on your trapline.

If it's for taxidermy the pads need to be fleshed, eyes and lips split, ears turned and hide fleshed. I'm a fellow trapper and taxidermist and as your demo showed you can prep a hide for the taxidermist, however, if I can speak for my taxi peers we would prefer to have mammals brought in whole so we can skin and get measurements off of the carcass. Nice video for those who can't make it to the taxidermist or freeze the animal whole!

Thank you, kindly young man. That has been the best skin job I have ever seen. Not only was it the best visually it was the best instructional video I have ever seen. Bobcat and Martin are 2 furbearers I need to catch yet. Hopefully in the next few years I’ll be able to accomplish that. Looking forward to your next video and thanks for sharing
