Loving the vids mate. This is by far the best skinning video on KZbin, most vids I watch give me a brain bleed watching them struggle, loving how sharp your knife is too, it’s a good change from watching people hacking away. Also so far the only other person I know that uses water when punching the pelt off the best tip I give people is have a bucket of water

Oz, The Kiwi homekill guy.. Just wondering how you killed the sheep cause general you tube watchers can't stand the reality. I like to hunt specially for the the reason of not being a hypocrite. I do my own dirty work I think the criminal justice system needs to be started with children who are potential crims to come to the farm and show them how the full circle of life. Nurture to num number. Because the general public are insulated from reality. Like in LA everyone is too posh to pick lettuce and England where I live the hard dirty work getting done by the immigrants

In New Zealand it is law that we must stun or shoot the animal before bleeding. I shoot them before bleeding. Have a look at the video of cutting a sheeps throat to bleed, this the way that I do it if they are in a small pen. I prefer them to be in a trailer so they aren't running around and getting stressed.

The main reason for me putting videos up on here is to try and educate the ignorant and ill informed people out there of exactly what happens in the real world. There are so many people that have no idea of what happens just what they have heard or think.

Excellent video. I did my first sheep yesterday and got another to do in a few days. Should have watched this video first. My sheep are about 18 months old and have more fat than I could see in this video (I assume because they're hoggets / shearling rather than lambs). I'll be following your method on the next one, but any tips in dealing with a fattier / older animal?

Good job. Being a city dweller most of the time such means are never taught. At first I used a knife to slowly cut the skin away. Made MANY mistakes around the guts tank, adding trouble to the process. Then I used an air compressor to make it a little faster I had hoped. Simply not useful when you do it right the way you just did. The fastest way in my opinion is to man handle it watching carefully where to make the very few important cuts, as you did.

I assume by lifting the wool you mean compressed air under the skin to separate it from the carcass. If so no. It is proven that doing that achieves absolutely nothing (except wasting your time). I have not seen a video yet that shows it working how it should.

@@zinoudzgamer3667 what a load of rubbish. It is not more merciful as you force the animal to the ground and cut it's throat while it is conscious and it can feel pain. It does not protect meat temporarily from bacteria. Know some facts, not hogwash from a religion.
