Wait you’re skipping with a spinning reel? That’s easy. I thought you were gonna show us how to do what Ty Pig Patrol does. He skips with a baitcaster. I can do it but i backlash half the time.

I can barely skip a bait caster but have decent accuracy. I have no accuracy with a spinning rod. The harder I try the crazier it gets. I wouldn't even dream of using a spinning setup. LOL

Im surprised adjusting your breaks on your baitcaster wasn't mentioned for the beginners. If your new to skipping and your reading this, lews, diawa's, and other reels that have external adjustable breaks on the side of the baitcaster (typically going from 1-10) can really help in easing the amount of backlashes you get. Crank those breaks to 10 and start with that. I've found that the cheapest diawa baitcaster that usually comes in their sporting good store rod and reel combos is excellent for learning how to skip baits. It's very forgiving. Hope this helps!
