@@GTOviewer It’s honestly something I hate about this platform. Many creators stretch their videos just to get revenue for mid roll ads. First off, if I ever have a video that long I don’t allow mid roll ads because you shouldn’t have a commercial break in a 8 minute clip. It’s brutal. Second with my roots in stand up, most of my videos are scripted so that I can trim the fat and make it punchier. It gets to the point where before I finish the edit I’ll even be circling back to remove tiny gaps between sentences shaving seconds in all pauses if I think it won’t affect the comedic timing. I really pride myself in it, so that means a whole lot:)

Didn’t sneak into the arena but still a crazy story… the quick version. Back in 2008 my Pittsburgh Steelers were playing the Buffalo Bills at the Skydome in Toronto. We sat in the 500 level and decided that we were too far from the action so high on a lot of mushrooms we went down to the 100 level and showed our 500 level tickets to the ticket checker. It could have been our high on mushrooms confidence or the fact that he had Down syndrome (don’t judge us, we really didn’t think it would work) but it worked. We got to the 100 level just in time to watch the Steelers score a touchdown.

We told everyone we were artistic director and service manager for the Ministry of sound. It was in the 90's and the simple evocation of that famous club was a conversation starter in the nightclubing scene. The word got to the owner of the club we were at that he had prestigious clients 😂. The guy came to our table and started to offer us drinks after drinks. That night was a blast. All eyes were on us. Bottles and girls. We did a lot of impersonation at clubs at the time as we were both quite good at improv and English and internet wasn't around. My buddy even managed to pass as a Belgian prince at some point during holidays in Cannes, south of France. But our impersonation career started even before we were old enough to go in clubs. In 1999 Canada Games, I had 2 tickets but there were 3 of us going. It was the Championship Game between Alberta and Quebec, my 2 buddies said how are we going to get in? I said leave it to me, I told one guy to wait out side while me and my friend went in to our seats. I then took the other ticket with me and went outside again. Gave it to our buddy that was out waiting and walked back inside like we just got there. The thing that worked out best was we had one empty seat next to us, so the third wheel joined us for the 2nd and third periods! Thanks for sharing your video, it brought back a great memory for me.

Me and my buddy snuck into a sold out horror movie convention in jersey a few years. Initially intended to buy tickets at the booth but obviously no luck there. Walked around a bit in the parking lot and noticed a side door smoking area that wasn’t really sectioned off for smokers and basically looked like anyone could walk in and out but the catch was that it was right next to the ticket scanners/security once inside. Luckily it was mid day and it was jam packed so it was easy to blend in, act like you own the place and waltz on through around the ticket staff. My advice to anyone sneaking into a convention is buy something quick from a vendor that has bags or bring plastic bags to put things in to blend in better.

We start out in the right field nosebleeds and ended up right behind home plate. One of my favourite experiences of my life. Latest one we went to see the Sabers play the Canucks in Buffalo and ended up right at the glass to the left of the penalty boxes. Was cool as hell.

Smashing Pumpkins concert wasn't necessarily a sneak in, but we had nose bleeds. We ventured into the hallway and managed to grab an elevator highest floor of the arena right behind the stage, took it to the most lower level. When the elevator opened up we were backstage. We could see the Performers getting costumes on we were immediately approached by security and told them we were just on our way out and took the closest exit. The venu had amazing stage side seats that were not sold or taped off so we sat there. We ended up from the highest level to being so close we could touch the performers just left of the stage watching them walk by us when they got on and off. It was a side view but it was still so close and amazing to see from there.

Hey Mattie, LOVE your story brother and felt compelled to tell you two "tennis variations" that you might like to hear! 1982, Mats Wilander had just won the French Open and was playing in the Canadian Open at York University. A buddy and I decided to head into TO from Hamilton, on his motorcycle, and when it started to rain, we were lucky enough to be able to get off the 401, head to Steeles and Keele and park the bike, coincidentally, at the Tournament Hotel, then called the Triumph Sheraton. We park in the lot, walk into the hotel with our racquets and duffle bags and YUP, cue the ruse about to begin!! We see Saabs, the Official Car of the Tournament (probably at Bjorns request) and a female driver at the door asks if we need a drive to the venue? A nanosecond later, my buddy and I are making the short drive to the courts and the rain made it obvious that we weren't going to be able to practice outdoors, so I immediately ask, "Where's the indoor practice facility?" as in those days, York U had a bubble but it was down by then for outdoor play. So the driver says, "I can take you to Mayfair West!" an indoor club I'd actually played a few Open events at. I say "Sure, that'd be great, thank you!" and sure enough, a short drive later, we're getting out of the Saab to hundreds of tennis fans standing in the rain waiting for players to arrive to practice. These poor kids are expecting ATP Tour players and my buddy and I are Club Players (I actually did get a D1 'walkon scholarship' to a great tennis school in Illinois so I can actually play!) But we decided just to thank our driver, set a time for her to come back, and we run through all the autograph seekers into the club, darting by the check-in table and to the far end of the club. Turns out, ALL those people were waiting for one person, and ONE PERSON Only! And that was Mats Wilander, 17 year-old Swedish phenom, who had JUST won the French Open and was playing in the Canadian Open right after the French! We actually watched him practice on the back courts with Nystrom and Jarryd, it was awesome! Our ride came back in an hour, we went back to the hotel, had a bite to eat, told our driver that we were at another hotel, and that we'd see her tomorrow, which we did. If you thought this story was pretty funny, I'm happy to give "next day" detail in the Player's area at the venue, and my buddy's "near fatal" (it would have been for sure) decision to 'steal' McEnroe's Sergio Tachini Davis Cup jacket, the one with USA on the back, red white and blue. Thank God I talked him out of doing it as Mac would have hunted him down for sure!! McEnroe did have some pretty cool Nike hightop khaki shoes that I suggested he might take, but thankfully and this guy ended up becoming a cop haha lol we decided to be honest, enjoy the ruse, which we did, watched great tennis, and talk about this hilarious adventure to this day! I even had the audacity of making Lendl wait for the trainers table while I had the trainer check out my rotator!! Too funny! Anyway, sorry for the length but some stories just cant be condensed! Your's in Comedy and Tennis! Dave Millard

I snuck into a Jamiroquai concert in South Africa once. I swear to god it was Jedi Mind Tricks. The smokers section was only separated from the rest of the outside by some of those temporary red velvety separator things. There were security guards keeping an eye on that. I went and stood close to them but just far way enough that security guard didn't make me leave where I was standing. One of the gate people looked at me, and I acted like I was on the inside but had been out for a smoke, and just happened to be beyond the gate thing. I remember seeing them surveying me and that's where I think the Jedi Mind Trick game in. it was the way in which I looked at them, like, "I'm already inside", and then when I walked in I strode with such a confidence as in "you don't even need to check my ticket, I just came from the smoking area", that they simply let me through without checking my ticket. It was surreal! I would have paid for a ticket, incidentally, but they were sold out. Greaet concert, too. Johannesburgh, 2002.

I had tickets to WWE Smackdown in Vancouver. When I got in, the security was so ridiculously strict. They asked me to check the bulge in my pocket which was a plastic bag to put my jacket in. My wallet, keys, belt.... Made me so incredibly upset to the point where I complained. Ironically, there is a closed restaurant behind my seats. There were like 10 people sitting there lol. They eventually got booted but wtf Anyways, I challenge you to get into any event at Rogers... by entering through the 300 level.

I can't tell if you really snuck in because there is no video of it but I imagine that if a person sneaks in, and the event is sold out, the venue isn't losing money, they are gaining money if the person spends any money while in the venue. And I assume once in, it can't be proven that you snuck in because you can just say that you lost your ticket...
@MattWatsonComedy11 ай бұрын
You’re correct. There’s no actual footage of the sneak in I’m describing in the video as the b roll was all shot at a game I had a ticket for. I also haven’t been pulled by security once in a venue but assuming you’re wearing the home team jersey and not a sleeveless Space Jam Murray jersey, they’d have a heck of a time picking you out from the crowd. Thanks for the comment!

My son's mom and I got 3 people in to see Base is Bass, Busta Rhymes, Tribe Called Quest, Fugees, Cypress Hill at Canada's wonderland. Me and the kid's mom went in first. We preyed on the location of the ticket takers and the distance between them. I made sure we went to the ticket place to the far right. I asked the woman, "we want to go in and hit the washroom, but her friend is outside and is stuck in line to get into the park." This was a lie. He was watching us go in from about 200 feet away. I made sure the woman recognized me and I asked her to make sure she remembers me. We sat for 30 minutes prior to the show while her friend waited outside. Just before the first band was to go on, we could see the sound and lighting engineers take their places. This was go time. I got up and went to the woman that I had asked, and made sure she remembered me. Upon grabbing the friend out of view of the ticket takers, I gave him the stub for the seat that my GF was sitting at, and then went back to the entrance. There was still a huge crowd and we intentionally went to the ticket booth as far away from the woman that I spoke with. When we got to the ticket taker, they said there was no in and outs. I pointed to the woman that we spoke with, and motioned to her with a little wave. She gave the thumbs up to the man in front of us thinking that it was all good and my friend had a ticket. I counted on them not talking to each other in that busy moment. Things are different now, and this might not work as hard copy tickets are a thing of the past.
