Marty, What helps me keep good clean cuts for the strips and the wires after you tin them is good pait scissors. I stole mine out of my wifes sewing drawer. She has not sewn since the kids have been gone years ago. She will never miss them

One thing I learned as a married man, DO NOT USE your wifes sewingscissors!!! not even when you sewing yourself, you'll do it wrong!

@@AnnoyingRash OMG that is so true. I had to sew a button on my own pair of shorts after they sat in the sewing bin for 6 months. After the kids got of the house she lets me fend for myself.....I figured if she gets mad now then that means she is sewing again for one the kids....I still fixed my own shorts...Thank you Boy Scouts

Hi! Good video. You specify a soldering iron that's capable of reaching 700 degrees F but you don't actually state the temperature you solder at. I'm soldering mine at about 650 F but having a few difficulties tinning the led strip. I have ensured all silicone is removed but still struggling. I have gone hotter but this seems to damage the tape. Any advice?

Hello! Thank you for the question. We found that a temperature of 650 - 700 degrees F which you seem to be doing yourself. Try making sure that the tip of your soldering iron is clean, it sounds like it might not be.

So where to get the equivalent silicone filler in other countries where US brand names don't apply? Also, my strips came without caps, so I'll use shrink tubing instead .

Great question. You're looking for room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) clear silicone.

Hi,we have a pool and need to connect multiple stips in order to be able to go around the pool. How to you water proof the strips to strips connections. I saw that you do have a press in type of connector for strips to strips but can we make that connection water proof if we use those push in connecters..??? thank. Marc
