Good idea. I never thought of using an iron as a hot plate. I didn't know it could get hot enough. Obviously it isn't suitable for all situations, but for single-sided PCBs that seems like a great way to easily mount all the SMT components at once, instead of using a hot air station.

Hi my friend it is a nice job But it is very hard and sometimes it is imposible to remove the led of tv backlights! And you have to break it and then change it!!! Good luck.
