Excellent guitar soloing tutorial! Chords, scales, triads and patterns coming across the fretboard cohesively and coupled with the chords progression. The scales drawn on the screen, and the dynamic chords progression along with the background music help to understand the application of your tutorial immediately. Congratulations to all the team for this awesome video, it definetely highlights your professional experience. Thank you!

I want to be able to play and record myself playing rhythm of a song. Then I want to play and record myself playing the melody, and put the two together. I've seen people doing it but I don't understand how they do it. It will show 2 videos of them playing, one right under the other. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

@@LeadGuitarWorkshopinteresting, but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm not looking for scales or patterns. I know what I want to play, but I don't know how to show and hear my melody and rhythm at the same time. I want to record myself playing just rhythm of a song I know. Then I want to listen to my rhythm, and play the melody and record it,so it will sound like two people playing at the same time, one playing rhythm, and the other playing the melody.

I must've had about 7 different instructors. None of them ever broke it down like this for me. They just all strung me along till I got frustrated and stopped going to see them. If they would just show this from the start and say "I'm going to teach you how to get to this point following my roadmap. it's going to take time, patience and hard work plus dedication but if you follow along on the roadmap, you will get here and this will become 2nd nature..." (I know. it's a mouthful but succint) I would have said "yeah! Let's do it!" Instead, they would teach me everything but this. "hey, you ever heard of the pentatonic minor?!?" and then they'd teach me shape one and we'd be on that for about 8 weeks. ugh. Thank you. This is something that I REALLY want to conquer.

This is out of my pay grade, but I woke up this morning thinking exactly as he described in the first topic. First, be a musician and then a guitar (ukulele) player. I have Aural Aphantasia, so I probably will never be a musican, and I doubt there will ever be a waiting line of bands asking me to join. So what, I'm geeking out on music theory to try to learn the piano and my fretboard. I was frustrated that my fretboard didn't have black keys. But I put postit notes on my piano, and now my piano has strings. This really helps to understand intervals, and explains why there is an option around E in the circle of fifths patterns on the guitar or uke. Despite my frustration, I think this is probably the most important video I've seen. So much crammed into a 16 minute video. Merci beaucoup.

Well all of those ideas are great, but... it generates so much thinking while playing. Brian May said some time, he believes that all guitarist has a melody in your mind before he play. Maybe it is a one millisecond before :). But if we sing (if somone can) we don't think so much. Of course it is not easy to put on fretboard melody from our mind (or heart) but finally I think it makes playing much more easier. It is like grammar in the language - every native speaker doesn't need the rules, and never learns the rules, he just speak.

All these and in the end forget everything or let them disperse inside of the subconscious... Close your eyes for the initial phase of soloing to trasfer yourself to the world of your feels that comes naturally from your soul or as your soul gets moved by the sounds of the chords.. Then let everything out and lose yourself aided by these beautiful techniques of musical creation..as they come to you naturally through your sub concious

Wow...a light came on when you located the major position with your pinky, then counted the position down to what they'd be on the 12th fret. Now I realize I can play chord changes in one spot. Moment!! Just subscribed. Looking forward to more.
