Man this is good stuff i struggled soloing over chord and would often use the pentatonic scale and would get stuck with it. I appreciate this alot and you just earned a sub bro ❤️✊🏻

Hi there,Im actually a bit lost in playing guitar,can you or anyone out there help me out with which step should i take next? Im already at where I know almost all chords,barre chords and power chords,alternative picking,bending and all stuffs,and now Im starting to learn the scales and memorizing the fretboard,which scales should I learn first and what’s the next steps?,it would be really helpful if someone can help me out from here 😢🥹

I don't understand, why not use the first note of the chord and play on the pentatonic?

Great question! So that first note (the root note) sometimes will clash with the chords in the progression, as well as the bass player. More importantly, however, the 3rd is the colorful note of the chord that will determine if it's major or minor. If you play the root note over a major chord or minor chord during a solo, you're not informing the listener of the changes going by. but if you play the third, you are coloring it as either major or minor, and adding more flavor to the notes that you play. @@Tauristic my approach is if you play each chord in whatever changes are going by, naturally you will be highlighting the mode of the song. So I don’t think “what mode am I playing in” rather I think what chords am I playing over
