tried this method for different Mixture problems. Answers came out very inaccurate. I tried a different method and got the right answer.. But i would really like to see if you can try your method with this Word Problem At a performing Arts Center, Seats in the orchestra sections cost $18 and seats in the balcony cost $12. if there were 120 seats sold for one performance for a total revenue of $1920. How many of each type of seats were sold? when i tried your method... multiplying the two outcomes gave me a obsurd answer.... when i put P3 and G3 together...

That's a number problem not a mixture problem

Do 2 equations with 2 variables. 18x + 12y = 1920 x + y = 120 First: solve for "x" in the second equation... you will get this answer: x = 120 - y Second step: Plug (120 - y) in for x in the first equation and solve for y. You will get this answer: y = 40 Third step: Plug your answer of 40 in for y in the second equation and solve for x. You will get: x = 80 So.. your answers are 40 Balcony seats and 80 Orchestra seats.

Im so damn frustrated because my equation is set up differently. I have a take home portion of a test thats due tomorrow morning and I cant figure this out. FUCKHow man liters of a 10% alcohol solution must be mixed with 90 liters of a 70% solution to get a 60% solution?
