Guys, if you are having hard time and you failed, accept it because you are just training. NOT COMPETING. Look! I failed 13 times then I copied all the algorithms in my notebook and when i solve it i look at it, just a while ago i consumed 10 MINUTES to solve the cube and then I'm slightly memorizing the notations which it made me easier to understand the algorithms. so guys, if you really want to learn, STUDY IT, BE PATIENCE, HARDWORK and at the end it will be worth it. 😃😁😀

Ten years ago, my seventh grade students challenged me to learn how to solve it. I was always under the impression that it was some ridiculously difficult puzzle to solve and only a select few people could actually do it. When I saw nearly half the class learn how, I began to think I might have been mistaken. I have to say that I was pretty surprised at how simple it ultimately was. There are a few basic moves and that's that. I was actually disappointed that I was able to learn it. It's fun but I wish I could go back to when it was a mysterious puzzle.

In Mid-August 2015, my mom got me my first Rubik’s Cube. 10 months later in June 2016, a friend taught me second layer. Finally, on August 14th, 2016, I finally finished learning how to solve a Rubik’s Cube, and this is the video that taught me last layer. Now, over 6 years later, I currently hold the US Southern Record for 3x3 OH with an 8.74 (Currently ranked top 80 in the world), I have an official 5.97 3x3 single, and have about 250 twisty puzzles. I now average mid-to-low 9 on 3x3. Kenneth, I just want to thank you for inspiring me to pursue my passion as a cuber and for teaching so many people how to solve it.

+Nightmare Bomb1999 It makes plenty of sense : P you just have to think about it as if you're only moving the one piece you're focused on. If you worry about the other pieces, and alter the algorithms because you feel like you're moving them when you shouldn't, then you're going to ruin the math behind it all. The algorithms are cleverly made to keep pieces that shouldn't be moved from moving, in the end. Anything else that moves doesn't matter, since you'll be fixing it in a later step.

My only advice would be just practice the first algorithm over and over until your hands hurt. Muscle memory will help you. Even if you don't remember the exact steps, your muscles in your hands will just remember what to do next. Then do the same thing with the next algorithm and the next one.

Moo Rooster hey I have been cubing for about a year and average 30 seconds, is that really slow? Ik it's weird to ask u but I just feel like it 😂
@jdhdp7 жыл бұрын
It really depends on how much you practice, or how much you are invested in it. I just turned 18, and I've been cubing for about 7 months now (And i have a love of all puzzles and have had that forever). After just over 7 months, I have practiced probably every day. Done literally thousands of solves (probably 3000~) and have bought many more types and shapes and sizes of cubes, and tons of research and watching YT videos about cubing. I average at around 22 seconds, and have a PB of just under 12 (very lucky scramble, haha). So to answer your question, no, 30 seconds isn't really slow at all! It can impress most people, anyways. Don't worry about your times, and just have fun with the puzzle and the community :) In fact, go to a competition! You probably won't win or anything, but they are so fun anyways. I went to one when I averaged about 35 seconds, and I had the best time, even meeting people from across the world from countries like Bosnia. Lol, sorry for the long response.
@derrickgipson1867 жыл бұрын
jdhdp well thank you and I will start practicing more lol

It's like observing a class that you've already passed. It seems like the professor was teaching it very slow, but only to you because you already get it. I'm sure you didn't understand it at all when you first learned it, but you appreciated when the material was slow and easy to follow. You have to remember that the rest of the people watching are seeing it for the first time, and need that extra time to understand it.

For Step 4, if you get the hook, instead of doing the same algorithm twice, you can put the hook in the top left corner, and do (F U R U' R' F') to get all the edges in place. It's a faster way to get all the edges than the way you showed us.

+Jacob Mancini what do you mean hook?
@FlynnWhite-xb2mt9 жыл бұрын
+Panayotis Chatzimichos while getting the yellow edges after the first two layers, if the shap you have isn't a bar, but rather a hook or arrow like shape (one yellow edge on top and one on the west) then the algorithm I commented will get all the yellow edges in 6 moves

+Jacob Mancini sorry I might be missing out on something, but which direction is the arrow or hook sopposed to face? like does it have to face up right, up left, down right, or down left

I wanted to thank you because this video is what helped me solve a 3x3 and got me into cubing. At this point, I can now solve every cube up to an 11x11, and I recently purchased and solved a Megaminx, followed by a Gigaminx. Thank you again; the things I learned in this video still help me today!

@jaylewis21328 жыл бұрын
DragoPhoenix you have essentially completed step 6! If you have all headlights match the corners with the correct matching side center piece and then proceed to step 7

So I guess my question is what if I have 3 oranges on top? The algorithm sends me back to having two or one and I've done it 20 times haha.
@redkb10 жыл бұрын
That would only happen if your cube is unsolvable! That means either the puzzle fell apart and it got put together in a position that is unsolvable, or stickers were taken off and put back on in an unsolvable way. Try taking your cube apart and assemble it solved. Then when you scramble it your cube will be in a solvable orbit.
@shredlockholmes440810 жыл бұрын
Yeah I do seem to remember messing with the stickers a while back haha. I'm going to order a new one, so what brand would you recommend I go with?

@vrabiealexandru27557 жыл бұрын
nathan cao for step 1, use the middle colors and align them with the color opposite you want to work with, I worked with white so I use yellow with middle white edges. At step 2 use this algorithm: R U R', and put the color up of the corner you have to complete: like if you have red and green, use a corner with red and green andddd the color you want to work with and use the algorithm until it fits in
