Hello, I am a last year high school student in Bolivia. I am 17 years old. I decided to study mathematics permanently but blindly because I don't know how much I like mathematics, or if I have an abstract mind for research, but even so, my love for mathematics prevailed. Despite the fact that I had already decided to study medicine, but it was only because lately I have been losing myself in medical series and I had the illusion, in short, what depressed me about being a mathematician or even a physicist is that I feel that both sciences have lost its essence, that is to say, it has been prostituted as an instrument of popularization to make physics seem like child's play and mathematics a spectacular adventure, in addition to the fact that many of their famous characters from both are so well known that they make you see life of these characters more than their work and even I have been very nice to them since I value myself so little that I prefer to compare myself with people who have had the same personality as me and succeed in life, so I sold that illusion. Another thing is that many famous mathematicians or physicists were born intelligent and gifted or else they were obsessed with the matter from childhood and they investigated on their own and saw that they had talent, I have none of that, I chose to study the career as an epiphany and because if I I was interested in those subjects, but I don't find a solid relationship with mathematics or physics, I can't and my worst fear is not knowing my talent or what I am suitable for, I perceive myself as someone insignificant that sometimes I think about death or the past, and since I was born in a country like Bolivia and I am a student in a Catholic school where I am an average student, although they recognized me as the 3rd best, I am not able to evaluate this honor because it is from a school that I do not consider intellectually demanding or challenging, i tried to join Cheenta group (indian youtube song about math) but i was rejected or better said i got eliminated because at that time i had given up being a mathematician, now i am looking for a mentor or tutor to help me strengthen my skills math. I hope someone is interested in reading this comment.

Hello from Ohio, USA You know the information you are learning (despite necessarily not being interested) will actually peak your interest at the strangest of times. e.g. You may have the solution to an underlying problem very few can solve or it could be a gateway for another hobby branching into or from that knowledge. Regardless of what you make your life study I wish you the best of success.. keep safe and stay humble.

@@abstractgamer8543 Thanks for the advice, I hope I can achieve it, I would like to take private math courses but that is not possible for me given the economic situation of my family, in addition to the fact that I am addicted to procrastinating on my computer and I cannot take it away from me since I need it at the same time to do my homework
