The hidden pair seems to be a major difficulty for me. I was stuck in the puzzle, until you brought up the topic of the hidden pair and row two. Then I found the 58 pair, and I progressed some in the puzzle.

Nice job. Hidden pairs can be tough. The easiest ones to spot are when you can see the same two candidates in the same row and column that feed into a block and limit themselves to just 2 cells in that block. Keep at it and you will get better.

Naked triple example has only 2 and 5 as one of the cells? Not 1,2 and 5

Great question. A naked triple has the same 3 candidates limited to the same 3 cells. Most often you will see that 1 or more of the cells contain only 2 of the 3 candidates. That is still a valid Naked Triple. How long have you been interested in Sudoku?

Spotting the naked/hidden triples is something I need to work on

Keep at it and I am sure you will see some progress. Hidden triples can be tough with all candidates showing. Focusing on individual candidates first and then seeing what other candidates share similar cells has helped me.

but what happens if you have a naked triple in a block? can you eliminate all the others with those numbers in the rows and columns, or just within the block?

Great question. If the naked triple is in the block AND all in the same row (or column), then that is called a locked triple, and you eliminate those candidates from both the block and row (or column). If the 3 cells are only part of one house (either row, column, or block) then you can only eliminate the candidates from other cells in that one house.
