Summary: - put notes before the beat - separate each layer of melody to diversify plugins and effects - using automation on things like pitchbend on certain layers to tell a story - using different sounds for the different layers (tip from me: soundkits are cool for this, but taking random presets you find can help develop your own sound) - Put the entire melody into granular synthesis plugin to make it sound wavy - resonance melody - make it a bandpass on white noise with autotune and then apply distortion and reverb onto it (shimmer reverb imo is cool for this) Note from me: remember tho also less is more. Keep going Akayo, I recently got this kind of stuff taught in music class as well, you've studied your icp well lol

Melodies are exactly like stories! they have to have a theme, and also be engaging enough for the listeners to keep listening. If a book is boring, people won't read it. The same is for melodies, if a melody is boring, people won't listen to your song.

i absolutely agree that when you're making a melody, you shouldn't be making it simply for it to exist, but rather to convey a certain emotion!

I didn't think I was going to vibe with the first melody because i thought it was too simple but those pitch bends added so much it sounded legit! Makes me think of all those times I've created a melody and started a new project after scrolling through presets instead of trying to make it come to life. I need to do my melodies justice lol

Love your videos, bro, I started producing at 18 in early 2019, and this whole year has been that year of absolute progress. I wrote a whole notebook full of tons of music knowledge and production, started hanging in more discord servers with other producers, giving and receiving feedback. It’s been an absolute blast, keep up the content bro.

I don't think that there is any formula for melodys. Because they are from the feelings that the artist or the producer had and when you grow as an artist then you dont need any formula. and when you hear the chord progression that you've made the melody gonna speak for itself and your mind and hands gonna do what they think is the best. Btw best producer/youtuber = Akayo

Bro do your parents allow you to have a PC and Studio Monitors in their house as in your bedroom? I'm getting negative comments that's I can't be a producer while I'm still studying under my parents roof and that I should use my lunch money to help pay their rent😂
